Tak, I feel your pain. I haven't played Warhammer in two years. Because I rolled over 70% of all rolls in a tournamet as 1's and 2's. My third match; I rolled 32 hit rolls and it was ENTIRELY 1's and 2's. It was the second turn and at that point I'd had enough. I shook my opponents hand and withdrew. It was such a miserable time that I haven't played since. I have invested money into a game of chance that I consistently fail to roll. It's actually a running joke at my local store. Consistently rolling bad is, "Pulling a Keldor."

idk, he was using a skew list, with basically no anti-tank (which is needed against DG) and no fast unit to out-speed the opponent

@@brainstorm90 yeah, but this book is written to be skew lists. If you don't use Deathwing Infantry then you get zero of your rules. The detachment rules and stratagems only affects DW infantry. Same for Ravenwing. It's bikes or no rules. Hard to not skew when your army has been pigeonholed into it. There's some okay flavor in there but basic Space Marines Codex is exponentially stronger rules.

But the Demon does not flee. Instead the brutalis is engulfed in enormous puss shedding arms, and the last words the venerable marine hears slither through his cockpitts' speakers. "Welcome to death. Your duty will end." The hug ends, and the vile beast stands up, arms open wide, the sound of its stretching interrupted by a thunderous bang as the Brutalis is dropped to the dirt, the cockpits insides a soup, but the only damage is but a single nick from a dark blade.

Great game! The paint job on the Deathwing Terminators looks amazing! TBH I’m nervous because my new Deathwing Army is eerily similar to Tak’s army in this match. I’ve been building my Dark Angels army since last year with the Dark Angels half of the Wrath of the Soul Forge King box (Azrael, 5 DW Terminators, 10 Intercessors), The Lion & Retinue box (Lion El’Johnson and 3 Bladeguards), and a spare Redemptor dread and Chaplain from a Dark Angels CP box. I’ve pre-ordered the Deathwing Assault box and plan on getting the Inner Circle Companions and Asmodai when they’re released. Based on current points costs, that adds up to 1925 points (without Asmodai and the Inner Circle Companions b/c don’t know their points). Asmodai is (currently) 5 points less than a Terminator Chaplain. If the Inner Circle Companions are comparable in points to Bladeguards, that’s basically Tak’s army. Hopefully I won’t suffer the “Painting Curse” like Tak did.

@@SmashingSnow Deathwing Knights and Terminators didn’t fair well versus Death Guard, which is a mid-tier army at best. DG don’t excel at either shooting or ranged but the supposedly tough Terminators kept going down. My primary army is Black Templars and I’ve played a lot of games versus DG, wherein Sword Brethren and Crusaders out killed DG, often wiping out entire squads so they couldn’t Fight Back. That seems to be the winning strategy compared to trying to slug it out inside DG’s -1 Toughness aura and other Spread the Sickness plague effects.

That definitely sounds tough and I do hope they errata some of the changes they made. I have yet to play a game and have only been watching/reading a bunch of things about the game. I hear BT are insanely good with their crusader squads and a certain character attached. @@reavern

@@SmashingSnow Crusader squads are great - both the Primaris and “Firstborn” - but the Sword Brethren are the real heavy hitters for Black Templars, especially when Helbrecht and a Castellan are attached with the Accept Any Challenge vow. The synergy equates to 100% Hits and 1/3rd auto-wounding. Sword Brethren’s ability lets them choose between +1 Attack or +1 Damage, which buffs the entire unit, including attached characters! I wish Dark Angels had synergies as powerful as Black Templars. At the very least Lion El’Johnson needs a significant points drop after he got nerfed.
