Hey guys If you're newer to the channel you probably haven't seen my face on here before! I'm Rere's brother, I haven't uploaded on here for a while but will be a more frequent face on the channel! If you go back to earlier reactions you can find me and Rere's duo reactions. feel free to drop me any suggestions below!

Was just going to comment that y'all should go back to duo reactions. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate this and your other solo reactions, and Rere's too, but I tend to like your duos. If scheduling or logistics is a problem, maybe you should at least do the really big ones together (like this one). I know there are a few that y'all did separately and we get two reactions, but I am drawn to reactions with duos because of the reaction together. Hard to put a finger on why.

@@brianwalker5937 I get you 100%, I watch a lot of reactions to Tv shows and always prefer duo / group reactions (as I enjoy watching multiple people react, and also enjoy discussions and having multiple perspectives) We’ll definately bring back the Duo reactions. We’re gonna get a new audio interface aswell which will allow us to connect 3-4 microphones + headphones so that we can do the occasional group reaction aswell (perhaps bring our other brother and sister on every now and then)

@ thanks! Sometimes I do, in quite a few vids I’ll have a google search after listening to the song to get a bit of context and background on the artist (more so with bands to see the different members and such), but I’ll certainly do that more as it does help alot

Phil is one of the best drummers of the last almost 60 years. He started as the drummer for the progressive rock group Genesis in 1971, when Peter Gabriel was the lead singer. When Gabriel left Genesis to pursue a solo career in 1975, Genesis auditioned dozens of singers to be the lead singer. They weren't satisfied so Phil said "why don't I give it a go". Phil had sung backup and harmony vocals to Peter Gabriel. He obviously knew the new material they had already written, and after singing a few songs, the other band members were convinced he could step right in as lead singer. Genesis then toured with Phil up front singing, with a 2nd drummer playing behind him. Their dual drumming duets became legendary (Genesis did a lot of instrumental music which Phil drummed on). Phil also was in the progressive jazz rock fusion band Brand X playing drums as a side project in the late 70s. He then started his solo career in 79 and 80 parallel to Genesis. He is simply one of the most talented singers/songwriters/drummers/musicians ever.

Isn't he amazing? Phil Collins is an accomplished drummer. I love how you appreciate the 'abstract elements' of his music and performance. Even the stage is sparse and gives space! His concert videos are amazing entertainment. If you like abstract and synth sounds you will LOVE Genesis. Before he took over vocals he sang BACKUP to Peter Gabriel, another singer you must find. This performance takes your breath away. I love his little bow at the end. His quality and intensity is so true on all his work. This IS about betrayal. While on a very long tour, with his wife and two young kids at home, she left him with the guy working on their house. He followed her to Canada to work it out but no go. When he got back to London he sat in his house brooding and writing music. I think he wrote this AT the guy (not his wife), maybe fantasizing a conflict. Check out his first album 'Face Value'.

Great live version! Phil Collins is best known as the drummer/singer of the rock band Genesis in the 70's & for his solo career. He has had so many great hits such as "Another Day In Paradise", "I Don't Care Anymore", "Against All Odds", "One More Night", "Sussudio", "Take Me Home", "Two Hearts", "A Groovy Kind Of Love", "I Wish It Would Rain Down", "You Can't Hurry Love" etc.

Not sure I care for all the little additions there are to the original tune in this live version. I can imagine this being divisive for people who like the song. Not saying this is bad, or anything like that, but for me it feels a little too removed from the original. Now that you've heard this, I would suggest listening to the recorded version. This song is incredibly atmospheric and conjures up cinematic images in your head. This was not lost on Michael Mann, who when making his 80s TV show, Miami Vice, used this song in an incredible driving sequence before a showdown. The song was perfect for it. And Phil later made a guest appearance in the show. For other Phil songs, I would suggest the big songs from his albums, Face Value or from Hello, I Must Be Going. I would particularly suggest "Do You Know, Do You Care?" from the latter album, for the atmosphere you get from it, and again, the recorded version is recommended. PS The song was written when Collins was going through a divorce, but he has wisely left the song open to interpretation.

Thanks for the feedback (of course I haven’t heard the original studio version), how does this version differ to the studio recorded version?
@RadioJammor
@RadioJammor 2 ай бұрын
@@RNDReacts The arrangement is a little different. I can understand if you do a song over and over wanting to freshen it up, but I think he played with the iconic sound of this one a little too much for my personal liking, at least. You're best listening to the original studio version for yourself. The fact that the audience isn't there in itself makes such a difference to the atmosphere of this one. *After* you do listen to the studio version, here's the Miami Vice clip. The problem with it is that it lacks the full context of the episode, but it still gives you a fair idea of how it was used in the show. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5KwdK2In5iGr8ksi=b2q_tIFmYc641M-K
