Your video is awesome and it gave me a bunch of extra ideas. 1) Use the PS1 chasis with RCA Jacks and solder them to the AV jack on the Raspberry Pi to have analog out. (Just because you can :D ) 2) Use Playstation controller to USB Adapters to replace those front USBs so it looks like the original ports.
@alexonstott49547 жыл бұрын
This is really awesome. I might try it whenever I buy a 3D printer. A cool change would be moving the pi to the center of the console, routing the cabling around it, and leaving the eject button functional to open the disc lid (probably add a plexiglass window) and show off the pi.

Uh, that's *_flux_* paste, not solder paste. Solder paste looks kinda like thermal paste. Also, I don't know if you're using rosin core, or not, but if you are, the flux is baked right in.
@bitelaserkhalif8 жыл бұрын
ChozoSR388 yep, solder paste will melt under heat blasting
@limogesfarmer63268 жыл бұрын
I thought flux paste and solder paste were the same thing: an acid that cleans the connections when heated up.
@ChozoSR3888 жыл бұрын
flux paste cleans, solder paste is for reflow soldering, or they also use the beads, or the solder baths, too.
@limogesfarmer63268 жыл бұрын
oh: the solder paste has flux and solder beads in it?
@mieszkogulinski1688 жыл бұрын
Yes. Solder paste (with beads) can be used also for manual soldering with a hot air gun. After blowing hot air the solder beads melt and it looks like regular solder metal with flux added.

Man, it looks beautiful. You should sell those printed parts as well, since 3D printers aren't that commom place. I'd adapt your idea, though. I think that with a x86 board (maybe from a NUC) GameCube emulation would be feasible and tottally awesome.
@retro-emulation98978 жыл бұрын

I personally liked the music. Cool video too. Good job!!! The only thing I might suggest is more speeding up the pedantic parts, like unscrewing the screws holding the case together. Speed up 2x or 3x and the video holds together better. You did it some times, I might just do it more.

There must be a way to get Raspberry Pi 3 to read the PS2 game discs as the games have copy protection to stop people ripping the game discs so you need to be able to read the discs so the software knows that the game is the real thing, possibly keeping the Kick-start software on the SD card and load the game from the DVD/CD Drive using some kind of DVD/CD Drive shield interface board that also has SATA to allow for storing your high-scores and software updates on the hard-drive.

Wondering why you wouldn't use integrated Bluetooth in Pi4 board or just a USB bluetooth dongle for Pi3 or Pi4 (for better reception)? You wouldn't have to run all those extra usb cables from the console ports to the Pi. Would also aid airflow to have less cabling inside.

You're right. The set is not just tuned to the raspberry pi 3. In april comes a high power single board computer (Up Squared) with USB 3.0. Then you just have to exchange the base plate from the computer and can still use the set.
