Every day I dust off my ps3 and older consoles because I have an INFINITE BACKLOG of games that doesn't require online and any additional payments and microtransaction. Yes nothing last forever INCLUDING the older policies of generous pro consumer Sony but at least with older games and hardware NO PRICE HIKES NO EXTRA PAYMENTS 😊

Indeed everything is getting more expensive, but what they fail to recognize is EVERYTHING is getting more expensive. That means for a lot of folks having to choose between making the bills, putting groceries on the table, medical expenses, and whatever else they have, and if the money gets stretched thin enough, non-essential stuff has to go. Dunno about most folks but PS Plus and gaming, in general, is squarely in that non-essential category.

My plea to the gaming community is to just cancel your auto renewal, it's fine if you want to buy it and play online, but just do it manually. The worst thing that can happen is that they lower the price after seeing their auto renewals go down. It's such a small amount of effort on our part for a potential change.

I did this and then they gave me a 40 dollar savings if I did it before my account expired. I think it's a bait and switch type of thing. I think they want us to cancel it and then they will do what SiriusXM does, which is, try and cancel and they will keep giving you a "cheaper" price to stay on. But it's the real price they're giving you and the full price are for the suckers who don't cancel it or question it.

I know ps4 and ps5 are better with cooling but spending 80 for clouds saves is extortion. I totally canceled my subscription. The price increase was scheduled for after my subscription was up for renewal, but they made it to where if you tried to change your tier, they would charge you for the new price increase, before the scheduled price increase date.

I canceled my premium and only taking the very basic $10a month just too play online. But honestly I don’t play the ps5 much anymore got a steam deck and game pass and use that and my pc and series x A lot more. And one game pass sub works across all three devices.

The funniest part is - I used to subscribe to ps now. And before they changed the entire thing their was WAY more ps3 games. They used to have MGS4 and a few other high profile ps3 games. Ever since they changed it and raised the price a ton of these banger games never returned so theyre actually providiing less value than what they did before.

I have owned a PS5 for almost a year. Been subbed to PS+ for awhile, Premium (monthly) I have mixed feelings about what is available. I do enjoy the platform, but wish more classics were available. Cloud streaming. Not really my thing. I like having access to a full game. Most of the PS5 games in my library are physical. Some digital. But PS+ just feels like a missed opportunity for Playstation to do more. It sounds like they are patting themselves on the back, for a job well done. When that promise is literally unanswered The price increase for annual or yearly, that was a dumb move. If subs are not receiving what is promised, Playstation needs to do better before more people cancel subs, until they get their head out of their butts

At least you have cloud service. Mosts contries outside of USA don't have it. So we do not have access to any ps3 game that is not offered in the Playstore for purchase

Much like Gamepass, PS+ only has value as long as you’re subscribed. The second you unsubscribe you own nothing and all that perceived value you thought you had goes right out the door, which is why either owning the old consoles or PC is the way to go. That’s why I just don’t get these Sub services on Console really and yes I do have Gamepass but I do understand that I own nothing from it.

I personally recommend sticking to XBOX because its better value at this point, especially the online service. The only thing keeping Sony afloat are exclusive titles. XBOX has way more to offer going forward.

At this current point in time, I don't play multiplayer games as much as I used to. I already own a ton of PS3, PS4, and PS5 games on disc so I have no urge to consider getting PS Plus for granted access to games. I care more about what is in my wallet compared to how much fun I'm having. Sure, it's fun to play games online with friends but when that means money from the wallet is senselessly being stripped away with little to no added value being added to the subscription service, it's time to kick yourself back in reality and think twice or three times about what you really need to do with your money. For me, I've canceled my PS Plus subscription ENTIRELY for March 2024 and I'll be an offline gamer. Nothing wrong with doing that just as long as I'm having fun 😉😉 And yeah, sorry to hear the news of your uncle. We're all rooting for his best full health return.
