Kadakowa wanted Sony to buy the company outright as a Korean company called Kakoa were trying a hostile takeover of Kadakowa and they did not want to be owned by them as they are quite shady for one and also not Japaneese, as Kadakowa wanted to remain a Japaneese business. However as Sony only wanted the anime and game ip as well as the fact news of the acquisition made share prices skyrocket they settled on Sony buying up more shares to prevent Kakoa corporation buying up more shares and initiating a hostile takeover. I dont know what copium people were huffing because it was obvious since news that Kadokowa were the ones to approach Sony to buy them out, Sony did not intend to fork over the $5billion to buy them in such short notice. Ultimately i think this is the best case scenario, Sony prevented Kakoa from the hostile takeover and Sony don't own a monopoly, Plus more chance of a bloodborne remaster as they are now "close partners" whatever that means.

The SEGA Genesis was better if you likes sports games. The faster CPU (which is not Blast Processing, a feature that wasn't implemented in any game that I know of) helped in making EA's sports games run and feel smoother.

Let's say for argument sake that Sony did buy Kadokawa and had From Software as a First Party Studio. Sony would be an absolute idiot of a company if they pulled the game from Xbox and PC. Especially PC. Elden Ring sold tremendously well on PC. I think to the tune of 13 to 15 million copies on Steam alone. Do they really think Sony would spend that much money on acquiring Kadokawa to then be like "Yeah, I can give up almost a billion in revenue in the hopes these PC players buy a PlayStation". It ain't happening. 13 to 15 million copies of Elden Ring on PC is roughly a billion in revenue (not counting Steam's cut, so maybe 700 million). That's not a small amount of money. Unless Sony truly is that stupid in thinking all those 13 to 15 million copies sold will guaranteed translate into a PS5 sale... which I know I'm not buying a PlayStation just for From Software games, despite how much I enjoyed Elden Ring.
