I feel like I've found an unicorn,she watches football,anime,games with me..and I mentioned to her in a fleeting comment that I wouldn't be able to play elder scrolls 6 if it's an Xbox exclusive,she knows how much Skyrim means to me and the next thing I knew she surprised me with a series x! Yeah, not so sure about DV & 1440p (it's just the resolution) but yeah, quick resume is the game changer. Unfortunately so is smart delivery, I can't believe it was needed. Game pass ultimate is a godsend, but I've ended up spending More on games since I've had it.

Xbox has always had the games I gravitated to and even the studios they acquired all match what I'm into for the most part. Great first person/3rd person shooters and western rpg's. They're literally the kings. They were coined the shooter box for a reason and they have oodles of studio who make great rpgs. Getting two bangers from Obsidian in the same year with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2, Fable .... my guy that is gonna be some crazy stuff, South of midnight lookin cool, and then DOOM.

I made the jump 6 years ago (have owned: PS1-4, PSP, Vita, Move, dumped tons in Home) when I bought a newer 2TB XB1S on an insane holiday sale for $150 at Best Buy. Haven't powered up my PS4 since, lol. With a super huge external WD Black HDD, it's awesome. (Been an extreme avid gamer since 1983, across most platforms since. First game was original Donkey Kong on ColecoVision.) Anywho, a few GP recommendations that are a bit older: Sunset Overdrive (zombies meets JSRF), Quantum Break (since you mentioned liking cinematic adventures), ReCore (just cool fun). Welcome aboard the XBox crazy train, enjoy the bonkers ride through this gaming utopia. PS - This video proves (in a great way) that XBox hasn't changed too much. When I made the jump 6 years ago, which came with 1 year Game Pass, it was free games EVERYWHERE, even beyond Game Pass. Was an awesome change of pace from dry spell after dry spell on PS. And 6 years later, it's STILL just like that, constant games to always play! PPS - Wait until you dive more into cloud-gaming and play-anywhere... it's a look at the future. ^_^ 👌 🤠 🤙

PlayStation 5 had the resume feature too and tbh I never bothered with it because the games would crash whenever I resumed, so if Sony removed that feature; I can understand why. Also I never bothered with the haptics, triggers or general vibration on the DualSense as when I first tried it with Astrobot, it felt awful. Xbox Series are great machines but for me it's all to do about video game quality and that's where PlayStation excels at more than anything. People tend to go where the games are at their highest quality not just in resolution or fidelity but in other areas such as story telling and gameplay. If it were hardware specific then of course I would pick PC over console anyday.

The only drawback to quick resume is IF there is a glitch in the system where something is not loading correctly the issue doesn’t go away until you unplug and do a clean system restart.

The whole point of this was video was brought about by the ability to be able to play what you want, where you want, how you want and with who you want. Gamepass destroys the entry barrier and allows you to experience games you normally wouldn't be inclined to experience, be it due to price, genre, gameplay, story, friends etc. You now have the ability to try new things or even older things. Further strengthened by FPS Boost, AUTO HDR and quick resume. Cloud saves go with you and work automatically in the background. You can pick up where you left off on another device. The ecosystem on Xbox is miles better and encompasses different devices. You're not stuck to one device. Ultimately, it provides insane value and is very consumer friendly.

It is, some games have been updated to upscale to 4k, some just have auto hdr and fps boost. Even without any update it should be better though as it's more powerful hardware, less chance for frame drops or crashes.

It did not get the attention I think it deserves. It's a Remedy game. It is, basically, to me at least, the game that set up the building blocks for Control turning out to be as great as it is. Exactly!! I've been telling people for years, Quick Resume is an amazing feature that those Sony fans, truly do not understand. They scoff at it like it's not a big thing. Until one has experienced it, there's no turning back. I have been a multi-platform gamer for years. Quick Resume is like my top favorite thing about Xbox, along with the gamepad controller. Oh man. Dual Sense may be cool in its way, but I'll tell you one thing, that Dual Sense controller does hurt my hands after a hour or two of using it. Xbox controller feels so naturally good, and can use AA battery, rechargeable battery, or even the plug in play kit, and those last forever. Dual Sense controller doesn't last as long, and that's why many PS owners have to buy two PS controllers to swap around each gaming session.

My assumption at least at this stage is that everything wrong just needs a patch, but even still I won't pay $700, and for all I know when the price does come down maybe the new consoles will be announced

Just get a base PS5. Nothing the Pro base that the base can't do. In fact, the Pro makes some games run and look worse. It's just another thing PlayStation threw at the wall in hopes that it'll stick. The Pro is pretty much a trial and error testing console until it can ACTUALLY be utilized correctly.

Quick resume is insane, favorite feature this generation. I've had like 10 games stacked up in there, had to rearrange my living room, unplugged the console for an hour, plug it in, within 7 seconds quick resume had me back in playing. Felt like absolute MAGIC

I genuinely think that in terms of feature set and UI, that the Xbox Series X has the PS5 beat. The PS5 has a fancy HDR UI, but it doesn't have folders or a web browser, and quick resume is a great feature. Would love to see Sony copy some of this stuff later on.

Ohh i did not know if bruv knows this but you also can save your progress or saved data on the cloud for free, while the playstation makes you pay and if you \do not you lose your progress, that is also a nice user life improvement, but good to know someone else appreciate the features and services. I also keep the ps5 for exclusives and xbox as the main cause i also use the pc

I started with the 360 and i didn't like it at all. But when I heard about the Xbox One X specs I had to get it since it was way better than the PS4. It was so good that I didn't upgrade to the series X until last weak (I got the white all digital) and the only reason I did it is because a lot of games are becoming exclusive to the series S/X. The One X was build to last because it is still running with zero issues just like the day I got it in 2017.

@@SirBruvian All sub services have a honeymoon. For me it was about a year to get through the back catalog I was interested in on GP, but now its only as good as the drops. And thats a whole different value proposition. Certainly has been for the last 12 months, improving now but you can see the investment in 3rd party has dropped off a cliff.

The ability to jump from Xbox to it's PC app, your saves being there... that's a huge thing too. Cloud saves just work. Quick Resume is amazing. The best first party games in all of gaming and they all come to GamePass day one. It's just... better.

As a player that I've had PlayStation since I was a kid, now I have a series S and It's the most beautiful, amazing console I've ever enjoyed. Game pass is a sort of dream come true if I was still a little boy, just amazing how Microsoft created all this whole ecosystem with tons of quality games at a cheap price 🎉

With all the talk of Xbox bringing all their games to PS5 and Xbox sucks etc, I sold my PS5 Pro and portal etc for Xbox Series X and I’m sticking with team green into the next gen. More powerful upcoming console and handheld confirmed, Xbox and game pass is where it’s at for sure. For me Xbox is the better system and I like Halo better than any Sony exclusive.

@@SirBruvian I never owned an xbox either until they announced Game Pass in 2017. GP back then was just meh, but I saw the potential. Glad I made that decision. I got to play hundreds of games I never would have even thought of. I still play my switch and ps5, but that gamepass cooks!

I have been a long time Sony console supporter but for me the PS5 has been lacklustre as I find myself just playing remasters so I sold it….still a great console but I also bought the series x this Christmas and have been impressed with it. My concern is if Microsoft will continue with making another console and how long they will support this one , has Phil come out and confirmed anything yet? Too many rumours to know what’s true!

I was PS all the way until last year I was curious to try game pass. Once I did, I went out and got a series x. Game pass is brilliant. I have a PS 5 also but quick resume for me is a game changer. Both consoles are awesome but Xbox for me has the edge with their subscription service.

I have both consoles as well. Xbox series X is hands down my fav console i ever owned. It makes no noise. Never overheats. The ecosystem, UI and controller are great. The customer service is phenomenal if u want a refund. Gamepass is incredible. The sales are amazing. Quick resume. Profile customization. Backwards compat. Its crazy how it literally had everything u would want in a console and online ecosystem, yet people keep buying ps5’s only when the majority of people dont even play the overrated exclusives anyways.

Download Skyrim and check out the texture overhauls, werewolf and vampire overhauls and massive amount of free mods that use external assets that Sony wouldn’t allow on PS4 and 5. They’re both great systems with plenty to keep someone happy and content. Both companies made great hardware this gen. I went with Xbox because of the backwards compatibility that allowed me to build my library from all of the Xbox consoles.

Sir, welcome to the community. As a 44 year old gamer, I started out on atari, on to Nintendo, then on to Playstation. Made the switch to xbox just before the 360 and haven't looked back. I will definitely add you. I'm also a single player gamer, also love co-op. Keep competitive multi-player to a min.

Out of anger i sold my playstation, bought a xbox, trust me i made the best choice i ever made in gaming history, trust me xbox is much much beter beside the exc games. As an Elder Scrolls fan, you'll find some pretty amazing original mods that aren't available on Playstation. Not as wild as what's out there on PC, but I can't imagine playing Skyrim or Fallout 4 vanilla ever again.

I’ve never understood why people mock other people for what they do. I’ve been with Xbox from the beginning and I’ve been with PlayStation mainly because of the games I’m interested in. I’ve even worked in the gaming industry for Ubisoft. For a number of years. And I spent 10 years on the PS4. But I’ve returned to Xbox because at the moment that’s where all the games are I want to play. I don’t mock PlayStation so I don’t understand the reason behind it.

If you've never played Sonic Unleashed before, it's a backwards compatible X360 game on Series X with a 60 FPS boost. A 2008 game that runs better on a Series X than the console it was made for and that's mad to me. (Some levels chugged hard on the 360) Also as an Elder Scrolls fan, it might interest you to know that Oblivion has a 60 FPS boost too!

I’ve been using my Xbox as mainly an emulation machine for my living room. Right now I’m playing Ratchet and Clank PS2. Paired with RetroAchievements it’s so so much fun! I’m gonna play so many PS2 games. It’s a bit ironic that Xbox can play them but PS5 can’t.

I've played both systems since they come out and in the 20+ years since I've stuck only with the Xbox, gamepass made it so much better, Xbox is great for gamers for me, I can go on GP and pick a game I wouldn't normally play and boom it's on, the cloud gaming option is fantastic. Can't ever see me buying or using a Sony console ever again.

I've always owned both and I've always gravitated towards my Xbox... I use my PlayStation just like I use my Nintendo switch,... Games I can't play nowhere else so I don't feel left out. But everything else just makes sense to play on my Xbox. The controller is better in my opinion, the service is light years better.

Also, since you're new to the platform I wanted to inform you that one of the things that the Xbox does extremely well that's hardly mentioned is its dedication to backwards compatibility. A lot of older games got free 60 fps and graphical upgrades simply through the hardware without patches. If you like playing older titles as well it's something worth checking out.
