Yeah, not so sure about DV & 1440p (it's just the resolution) but yeah, quick resume is the game changer. Unfortunately so is smart delivery, I can't believe it was needed. Game pass ultimate is a godsend, but I've ended up spending More on games since I've had it.

PlayStation 5 had the resume feature too and tbh I never bothered with it because the games would crash whenever I resumed, so if Sony removed that feature; I can understand why. Also I never bothered with the haptics, triggers or general vibration on the DualSense as when I first tried it with Astrobot, it felt awful. Xbox Series are great machines but for me it's all to do about video game quality and that's where PlayStation excels at more than anything. People tend to go where the games are at their highest quality not just in resolution or fidelity but in other areas such as story telling and gameplay. If it were hardware specific then of course I would pick PC over console anyday.

The only drawback to quick resume is IF there is a glitch in the system where something is not loading correctly the issue doesn’t go away until you unplug and do a clean system restart.

Xbox has always had the games I gravitated to and even the studios they acquired all match what I'm into for the most part. Great first person/3rd person shooters and western rpg's. They're literally the kings. They were coined the shooter box for a reason and they have oodles of studio who make great rpgs. Getting two bangers from Obsidian in the same year with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2, Fable .... my guy that is gonna be some crazy stuff, South of midnight lookin cool, and then DOOM.

The whole point of this was video was brought about by the ability to be able to play what you want, where you want, how you want and with who you want. Gamepass destroys the entry barrier and allows you to experience games you normally wouldn't be inclined to experience, be it due to price, genre, gameplay, story, friends etc. You now have the ability to try new things or even older things. Further strengthened by FPS Boost, AUTO HDR and quick resume. Cloud saves go with you and work automatically in the background. You can pick up where you left off on another device. The ecosystem on Xbox is miles better and encompasses different devices. You're not stuck to one device. Ultimately, it provides insane value and is very consumer friendly.

It is, some games have been updated to upscale to 4k, some just have auto hdr and fps boost. Even without any update it should be better though as it's more powerful hardware, less chance for frame drops or crashes.

Quick resume is insane, favorite feature this generation. I've had like 10 games stacked up in there, had to rearrange my living room, unplugged the console for an hour, plug it in, within 7 seconds quick resume had me back in playing. Felt like absolute MAGIC

Exactly!! I've been telling people for years, Quick Resume is an amazing feature that those Sony fans, truly do not understand. They scoff at it like it's not a big thing. Until one has experienced it, there's no turning back. I have been a multi-platform gamer for years. Quick Resume is like my top favorite thing about Xbox, along with the gamepad controller. Oh man. Dual Sense may be cool in its way, but I'll tell you one thing, that Dual Sense controller does hurt my hands after a hour or two of using it. Xbox controller feels so naturally good, and can use AA battery, rechargeable battery, or even the plug in play kit, and those last forever. Dual Sense controller doesn't last as long, and that's why many PS owners have to buy two PS controllers to swap around each gaming session.

It did not get the attention I think it deserves. It's a Remedy game. It is, basically, to me at least, the game that set up the building blocks for Control turning out to be as great as it is. If you enjoyed Control, then I *_definitely_* recommend this game to you.

My assumption at least at this stage is that everything wrong just needs a patch, but even still I won't pay $700, and for all I know when the price does come down maybe the new consoles will be announced

Just get a base PS5. Nothing the Pro base that the base can't do. In fact, the Pro makes some games run and look worse. It's just another thing PlayStation threw at the wall in hopes that it'll stick. The Pro is pretty much a trial and error testing console until it can ACTUALLY be utilized correctly.

I was PS all the way until last year I was curious to try game pass. Once I did, I went out and got a series x. Game pass is brilliant. I have a PS 5 also but quick resume for me is a game changer. Both consoles are awesome but Xbox for me has the edge with their subscription service.

For me, it's the play anywhere. I have multiple consoles on different rooms and gaming PC, and moving from room to room seamlessly and continuing my games is a game changer I can't go back.

@@Couple.of.Fools. All sub services have a honeymoon. For me it was about a year to get through the back catalog I was interested in on GP, but now its only as good as the drops. And thats a whole different value proposition. Certainly has been for the last 12 months, improving now but you can see the investment in 3rd party has dropped off a cliff.

With all the talk of Xbox bringing all their games to PS5 and Xbox sucks etc, I sold my PS5 Pro and portal etc for Xbox Series X and I’m sticking with team green into the next gen. More powerful upcoming console and handheld confirmed, Xbox and game pass is where it’s at for sure. For me Xbox is the better system and I like Halo better than any Sony exclusive.

If you've never played Sonic Unleashed before, it's a backwards compatible X360 game on Series X with a 60 FPS boost. A 2008 game that runs better on a Series X than the console it was made for and that's mad to me. (Some levels chugged hard on the 360) Also as an Elder Scrolls fan, it might interest you to know that Oblivion has a 60 FPS boost too!

I was a computer gamer for years and when i started dating my ex wife she brought a xbox into the relationship so we ended up with 2 xbox 360s and then one's, and now my daughter and i both have series, though hers is a series S, mine is X. New Dragon Age game upcoming, i am excited, I am playing Skyrim for the first time recently, all free on game pass.

I will now put forward some info you might want to know of what Xbox have in store each year: * Xbox showcase each summer! the last few years Xbox held a small linear event right after focusing on one game only such as Starfield or like this year: black ops 6 (which they do own now BTW) * Every January since a few years ago they have something called a Developer_Direct (30-40 minute show with 3 or 4 games shown with a 5th suprise game sometimes) * Tokyo Game Show (appears in Japan each fall, mostly September) to show and talk about games from Japan and how they will keep growing there) Some of these you might already know of cuz Playstation has them too (some at least) 2025s Developer_Direct is rumored to be around the January 22th date and the rumored/leaked Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion Remake might show up :) Phil Spencer (was head of Xbox, is now CEO of Microsoft Gaming) said during an interview that an Xbox handheld is coming (might be in prototype face) We expect the next gen to start 2026 for Xbox since it has been rumored that Xbox will go early! (when this gen started, the last Xbox gen got the same games as the new one for 2 whole years soo...) Hope you enjoy and welcome to this community :) And... what an awesome wife! I've played both systems since they come out and in the 20+ years since I've stuck only with the Xbox, gamepass made it so much better, Xbox is great for gamers for me, I can go on GP and pick a game I wouldn't normally play and boom it's on, the cloud gaming option is fantastic. Can't ever see me buying or using a Sony console ever again.

I left Sony 10 years ago becouse ther Customer service was so rude to me. Out of anger i sold my playstation, bought a xbox, trust me i made the best choice i ever made in gaming history, trust me xbox is much much beter beside the exc games. fun fact. you can resume the game even after you shut down your x box just make sure after you finish playing a game go open another app or game then go home and shut down your x box and after you turn on your x box you can go back to the game you were playing it is the best thing i found out about x after i sold my x box one ❤

I couldn't help to nod my head with a smile and agree and relate with everything you just said. Ive been biased about Microsoft products since my 360 kept getting the red ring of death back in 2005-2009. And ever since then i droped Microsoft and went with sony. Ps3,Ps4 and now my ps5 but like a slightly curious neighbor peaking over the neighbors fence to see what are they up to. I finally caved had some disposable income and bought a series s for cheap to try gamepass and i was overwhelmed with the amount of content thats on there. I was so impressed that i sold my series s and upgraded to a series x. I love my ps5 and proud of all the trophies/achievements i earned on there through out the years.but moving forward I'm making my series x my primary console. Its just the better value gaming wise. Tons of games plus you get to play online with xbox game pass ultimate for no extra charge?! That's more value then what sony is offering.

Download Skyrim and check out the texture overhauls, werewolf and vampire overhauls and massive amount of free mods that use external assets that Sony wouldn’t allow on PS4 and 5. They’re both great systems with plenty to keep someone happy and content. Both companies made great hardware this gen. I went with Xbox because of the backwards compatibility that allowed me to build my library from all of the Xbox consoles.

I've always owned both and I've always gravitated towards my Xbox... I use my PlayStation just like I use my Nintendo switch,... Games I can't play nowhere else so I don't feel left out. But everything else just makes sense to play on my Xbox. The controller is better in my opinion, the service is light years better.
