Fantastic retrospective and absolute love letter to the PlayStation...and beyond. Great editing and humor as well. As someone who also lived through the early years of the PS1, it's hard to convey the time period, and dare I say, "magic" of that period, but this video really took me there, with the supposed "superior" UK perspective. Thanks, Kebaab! On a side note, I love how you used footage of Yoshinoya when introducing the incredible IPs born on the PS2. Gyudon Clan ain't nuthin' to fuck wit'.

@@MrJemoederopeenstokj like I said to another commenter; AI is going to completely level the graphical playing field across all devices. Because console prices are subsidised by game and licence fees, consoles will always have cheaper upfront costs. And what do you think the general public will buy when both machines perform the same? They’ll be the cheaper unit.

​@dodgykebaab With the PS5 Pro being €800 now and the general lack of price drops for these consoles nowdays, I kinda doubt consoles are gonna get cheaper from now on, considering that the base PS5 is also €150 more expensive than the PS4 Pro. So with that, the price difference between a decent PC and a potential PS6 or PS7 isn't going to be very much, especially if sony attempts to pull a PS3 and launch a discless PS6 at €900 (though at that point I'd consider the PS3 a significantly better value considering what you got with that at the time).

Thanks dude, but no; I stopped playing WoW because I got bored of it. There is a world of great games, and as fun as WoW was, I’d done pretty much everything I wanted to do with it. I could of kept making private server videos just for the sake of views but not enjoy what I was doing, or I could completely tank my viewership but create videos about games that I want to play and enjoy. I chose to have fun rather than Internet views.

PSSR is just PlayStation's version of DLSS and FSR. It's not a new thing, it's been on PC for a while. And there are a lot of problems with PSSR that DLSS especially doesn't have. And yes, a console will always be cheaper up front, but you pay more in the long run anyway because the marketplaces on console are closed. Especially now that they're getting rid of discs, if sony wants you to pay full price for a digital only game on console you don't have an alternative. On PC there are loads of different marketplaces and key sellers all competing on price. And don't get me started on all the completely free games you get on PC from companies like epic games to try to get you to pay attention to their store. Finally, the main plus for PC for me at least is not the better graphics (although that is nice). It's how open it all is. If I want a controller with paddles on PS for example I have to pay insane prices, on PC I have a controller I bought for like £30 that has hall effect sticks (which even the PS5 pro controller doesn't have) and paddles. If a game is expensive on Steam I can buy it for cheaper on GOG, fanatical, humble store, gamesplanet etc. I don't have to pay to play online either. The only thing console has over PC is exclusives and they seem to be doing away with them anyway. I can play Returnal, TLOU Part 1, God of War Ragnarok etc on PC now.

@@thesunkendream yeah but it’s the up front price that people look at. By 2030, once AI has leveled the graphical playing field, users will see £500 console VS £2000 PC and will pick the console every time. Because that’s the general public

@@dodgykebaab But that same AI tech exists on PC, and you can buy a good PC for like £500. It's not going to be as powerful as a console but over time you can upgrade it, buy better parts etc. Console has ease of use and simplicity, that's really it. I've always been a console gamer until this gen. I just thought what's the point of my PS5 when I can play every game on PC AND play all of the Xbox games at the same time? I think going forward people will probably have a PC for multiplatform games and a Nintendo console for their exclusives. I was a PS diehard until they started putting their games on PC.

Current "AI tech" is still a crap if you do not have already 60-90fps and want to hit the 120Hz or w/e your screen supports. And you can see that really good in Stalker 2. Without DLSS/FSR and Frame Gen the game looks really nice even on "mid-range" pc with 5600x/6600xt, sure you will hit stable 30fps with dips here and there, but once you enable the Upscaling you can forget about seeing enemies that are not in a corridor. And with FG to hit 60fps, it was the first time I wanted to puke (especially with the way the FOV is implemented), and not even early VR (DK1 and DK2) didn't had that effect on me. // As for "Why buy PC when Consoles can do the same" for me it's "you can do more with it" and fact that you can upgrade it later on (especially now when CPU's got so powerful they will easily last 5-8 years, hell my PC with i7-3770 retired like 11months ago for the 5600x (and future upgrade to x3D CPU) as I had issues running WoW under Proton, and I only paid ~$200 for the 6600xt in the 10 years I had that PC, and the GPU rolled into my current PC. Oh and the price of the games, and constant sales on platforms like Steam (and early on Epic, as you would buy a $12 or $15 game on a sale with additional -$10 coupon), without any subscriptions that will take away what they lent you (AFAIK PS+ only makes the games available when you have it, at least it was case when it was new and I cared to know).
