PlayStation State of Play 2024 May - Review: The Good and Bad

This will be my PlayStation State of Play 2024 May reaction discussing the good and bad. The brand new Concord gameplay is receiving mixed response but the new Astro Bot announcement trailer is being highly celebrated. And the God of War Ragnarok PC PSN account requirement is going to be another big debate in the gaming world.

I recently sold my ps5, used the money to pump some better gear into my already good pc. i still watched the state of play out of curiosity. and I feel like I've made the best decision haha

@@user-js9sp5se9x one xbox game on the actual psn store outsold all playstations exclusives last year. It's going to happen again this year, and next. if xbox is dead, then what does that make playstation. fanboys like you are funny, you can't believe that some people don't worship console and can go where the games are. I did have ps5, last game I platinumed was replaying uncharted in the Nathan drake collection this year. I mainly used it for gt7 in vr. I've kept my psvr2 and sold the ps5 (don't need it now, the psvr2 is getting pc support) so, just grow up dude. if you would like proof, why don't I just send you a message off my psn? you can see my massive history with playstation, from my plats back on ps3. or you can realise you're wrong, and try and save face by calling me a liar and ignoring my proposal. hmmm?

I think Sony would rather get revenue from sales of Astro Bot rather than bundle it with the PS5 pro if it's a full game. It does not really make sense to bundle Astro with the PS5 pro. The games which are bundled with consoles are big games that might entice someone to buy one and can sell millions of copies on their own despite being bundled like SM2. Astro bot is not going to help PS5 pro sales and (probably) isn't going to sell millions upon millions of copies on it's own. Astro's playroom was packed in with the PS5 because it was specifically designed as a tech demo to showcase dualsense features. It was not a full game that was intended to bring in revenue.

Why can't the countries who can't create a PSN account do so? This point always gets brushed over. Is it countries not allowing it or Sony. Perhaps this is a way to strong arm the counties into allowing it or perhaps Sonys future plans don't include people who can't make an account so they're trying to push those people out.

I love the first psvr ! But cannot afford psvr 2 I wish they would put these games on psvr even if they were of lower quality ! So many people that have a psvr don’t want to reinvest in a psvr 2 especially since it’s so costly ! I think there are prob a lot of others who feel similar !

If they drop the launcher around the same time, it got a war then it would make more sense but since they haven’t said anything about them doing a launcher that yeah I agree wait it comes out in September maybe 🤔 they announce their pc launcher then

So paying homage to the history of the brand is just an advertisement? You can say something is trash. But when you give ZERO reasons to why you’re doing so then your opinion is worthless to me. If Nintendo can charge full price for Kirby, Mario, Donkey Kong. Then there no reason Sony shouldn’t be able to do the same with Astrobot.

ouch. sony is failing pretty hard software wise atm. selling lots of consoles though, so if you only care about console sales and not games... then youll love the ps5. recently just sold my ps5, kept my psvr2 to use along my quest3 once the pc adapter releases. besides concord (lol) and astrobot they have no release windows for anything, and because i only use it for first party gsmes (3rd party is pc obviously), theres no need for me to keep it. its an odd time in gaming. xbox can release a single game that outsells all sony first party releases that year, combined. it happened last year and will happen this year too when they release COD. but who cares about cod (a lot apparently, but not my type of game), most importantly they have 3 other first party titles coming this yesr too. all going to pc gamepass day 1. sony really need to step up their game development. it feels like upside down world having xbox destroy their software sales (on sonys own store even) this is a good video though. im not all the way through mind you, but reasonably level headed take here.

Jesus man hahaha. xbox will outsell the lifetime sales of those two games combined with one game. lol. it's also strange how you failed to mention there were more xbox games in the psn stores top sellers last month then playstation games.. but you just proved my point, you brought up a game you consider a huge success. but xbox will crush those numbers this year. you helped me express this even better. so, for that I thank you, reforge.
