Hey, I see you jump and can't get back on stage. Try holding up on the analog stick and press the B button. It will help you get back on stage. It is different for every character, so experiment with them and their movesets, and find which ones you like the most.

The amount of losses he has gotten from forgetting that up- specials exist even when the chat is screaming at him to press up and B hurts me on a spiritual level, but I'm still happy to see how enthusiastic and excited you are about Smash Bros. Some characters are way more complex than others, I'd recommend using a more beginner friendly character like kirby, mario or marth before moving onto fighters like steve, ice climbers or bayonetta

@@firebal6129 I don't recommend Cloud. He does have a learning curve revolving around constantly keeping an eye on his limit meter. Cloud is great on offensive. But his recovery options are limited and terrible, without his Limit Break. Plus, once your limit meter is maxed, you only have 15 seconds to hold on to it and use your next "B" move, or otherwise, you'll lose your meter and you have to build it up all over again.

You've never seen Rathalos before? He's from Monster Hunter. It's a really great game, I recommend checking it out. Monster Hunter World is out for PS4, XBOX and PC and is the easiest one to get into imo as they changed a lot of unintuitive and weird mechanics to make it more modernized.

Big warning though, if you really want to get into World or most of the Monster Hunter games, it takes a lot of time and grinding out various hunts, which is fairly time consuming and not good for short burst gameplay.

I'd recommend steadily increasing CPU level as you get better, once you can comfortably fight a level 8, you should be fine to fight other plays and start learning more complex mechanics like teching,

They improved the ai in this game and they actually do be fighting They can still sometimes do weird things but still good Playing actual people is beneficial and fighting these different people, who play these different characters, with different playstyles really makes you think Practicing on one matchup at a time helps so you understand your opponent's options and how you can counter it Movement in this game can be pretty fast and confusing but you will understand it

I have some tips for you: Go to you controls and turn off tap jump so its easier to do your up tilt. Marth has a mechanic called his "tipper" which means the tip of his blade does more damage and knock back, and Roy is the opposite, the base of his blade is more powerful than the end, and Lucina and Chroms damage is consistent throughout the blade. Since you have Pit now, go to Palutainas temple in a 1v1 and down taunt twice as soon as the match starts for an easter egg. (This is easiest to do in training mode at 0.25x speed) If you haven't already noticed, you have attacks called tilts that you can do by holding a direction and tapping A, if you hold A you'll do a smash attack. If there's anything I left out that you think he should know, you can put it in the replies

That is way to complex for a beginner. Especially a casual beginner. I only recently turned off tap jump, and I had been playing since brawl. And he should focus more on basics, like using up b for recovery height (in most cases), rather than things like Marth's tipper.

A couple tips- Try not to spam smash attacks. While most of them are strong, they are also usually pretty slow. They sometimes work well against CPUs, but you will have trouble with that kind of strategy when facing other people. Don't forget your aerial attacks. Try to use a variation of air and ground attacks, depending on what you learn your character's strengths are. Most of the time in this video, you are becoming dazed because your shield breaks. I notice you mainly throw forward. All characters can throw in all 4 directions. You can grab right out of shielding by pressing A while blocking.

Hey man, the mushroom at 2:33 is from the game Earthbound (Ness, one of the fighters in Smash, is from said game). It's a SNES game drom 1995. If Earthbound ever comes out on Nintendo Switch Online (where you can plas SNES games, make sure to give it a try).

The first thing you should definitely learn is recovering back on stage. Most characters have an extra jump, and their up special (up+B). There are exceptions, and some characters have a more varied moveset than this for recovery, but this is a key thing to learn to improve in the game.

You can do double jump and THEN up+B to recover even in air, thats a thing will save your stock many times. And if you are falling down on the air and you are out of jumps you can still use UP+B to save yourself

That final Hero battle is based on the final boss battle in Dragon Quest 1! In the game, the boss is called the Dragonlord and starts in his human form (Robin). When you defeat him, he transforms into a purple dragon (the purple Charizard). Dragonlord is also the first videogame boss to have a transformation and started the 'second form' trope in gaming!

If you wanna do it again, keep in mind that side-scrolling levels mess with their directions a bit, so that might give you an upper hand! That said, even if I PERSONALLY believe you should wait until you get everyone (*or at least Cloud*, because it's FOOKIN' CLOUD) I CAN tell you a few things: *Sonic is a "hit and run" character:* He's decent at combos, but doesnt' deal that much damage (unless you hit the sweet spots on his Up Air Attack and Down Air Attack, but Up Air is a for chasing the oponent to the top of the screen [so maybe leave that for later] and Down Air is SUICIDE on almost every situation unless you get good, which is admitedly pretty easy!). HOWEVER, due to his EXTREME chase potential, he can deliver more hits by taking less damage. Sonic isn't about out-powering. *Sonic is about out-LASTING. ANNOY YOUR ENEMY TO DEATH!* Run from side to side! Change the timing of your jumps! Put random Springs! FUCK WITH YOUR OPONENT'S MIND, and you'll be a good Sonic in no time! Also, Pressing B without any other inputs (or "Neutral B" in Smash Lingo) activates his Homing Attack! You can charge it for a while and it'll do more damage, but the tracking can be a bit wonky if your opponent knows it's comming and plans accordingly, so it's better as a mixup option, or to mess with your opponents when they think you're running away. *Be unpredictable and you'll get FAR!* Not just with Sonic! That goes for every character! Good Luck, Dee! Live and Learn!

I'm sure your chat already pointed it out, but Master Hand (sometimes accompanied by Crazy Hand) is a recurring final boss of Super Smash Bros.' Classic Mode, and a long-running series tradition. He's not present in every classic mode route in Ultimate, since each route is themed and some have better-fitting final bosses, but still acts as a stand-in when a more suitable boss is unavailable.

some personally like just playing around with the characters to figure out what they do, but if you want. When you press pause in the middle of a match, you can view all the fighter’s special moves and unique mechanics, including explanations. For many, but not all the characters, there are also Directs given by the director of this game going over character’s moves and basic strategies and such. Highly recommend

Classic mode is special, each character has a scripted route that is tailored to them, wich fits your character, such as bowser, his is "That red one, EVERY RED ONE" referencing his hate towards mario, you fight a bunch of red fighters.

Something else you might want to do that doesn't have anything to do with the main game play, is to check out the music in the game. As a default, each has stage has two music tracks that are likely to play, with leaves almost 800 tracks that you are very unlikely to ever hear. Yes, there's almost one thousand music tracks in this game (Currently 993, so most likely we'll be above the 1000 mark with the next DLC). If you go to the Vault (the pink option from the main menu) Sound should be the first option. From there you can either go just listen to the music or make playlists if you wanna use your Switch as a music player, OR you can go to the bottom corner of the Sounds menu to "My Music" which will bring up the stage select. Clicking on a stage here brings up a list of music form that series and sliders so you can set the likelihood of each track for that stage. I recommend setting everything to max unless you hear something you don't like (unless you're like me, who have gone on such a deep dive that a have an entire Excel spreadsheet to organize how I want my exact track and probability adjustments.)

From the main menu, you should look around and find the How to Play video so that you can now learn the controls. The great thing about Smash Bros is that the controls for 99% of the characters are all exactly the same. For example, if you hold up and press the B button, regardless of the character, it will be a move that allows you to jump/fly upwards. It can be used to recover back onto the stage when you are falling. But, yes, check out that short How to Play tutorial video that you can find if you dig around the Main Menu a bit.

Almost every characters are fun to play and pick up from the beginning, but you will come across characters that are strange or hard to master. I should also let you know that you should go create and try out Mii Brawler, Mii Swordfighter and Mii Gunner. And you can decide specials you can mix & match that you like after you create them. They're still consider as fighters and you should not overlook them. To create them, you go to "Games & More">"Mii Fighters" and select a fighter type. You can create and save an unlimited number of Mii Fighters with different set of specials.

There is a fast way to unlock all fighters (though I'm unsure if Nintendo patched this out). Basically what you have to do is play "Smash" and do one match, afterwards you will get a "Challenger Approaching" match. Simply beat the character and you'll unlock them, if you fail then you can do a rematch in "Games & More" (though I watched the stream and you eventually figured it out). After beating the character you must then go to the Home Menu (pressing the Home button), close the software and go back into the game. Then do another quick Smash match and you should fight the next Challenger Approaching opponent. This is the fastest since in Classic Mode it can take from 5 to 10min. to beat and playing Smash regularly would take a 10min. cooldown each time you do a Challenger Approaching. Doing this home screen method is the fastest and it would usually take less then 3min. I also do have a list of the characters you unlock in order by playing Smash matches (if you don't want to get spoiled by knowing who comes next then don't read on but if you're interested then you can see this list if you'd like): 1.
