@janmelantu7490 Sure, but 6 mana to copy a spell once doesn't seem game breaking by any means. You could argue that it's 6 mana dispersed over 2 turns, but then you're foretelling a big play, and you're not building in the meantime. It seems like a really lousy mana dump to be able to copy one spell once. Still an autoinclude in izzet decks because it poses no downside for sure, but just because something is an autoinclude doesn't make it outrageous and banworthy. Do you know of a cedh deck that doesn't run dockside?

For a more wordy explanation of how Tayam allows you to get around put 5 -1/-1 counters on Wall of Roots without it dying, it comes down to the fact that state-based actions are only checked when players would get priority (and the cleanup step). If you declare a Tayam activation, no players get priority until the costs for that activation are paid for, so SBAs aren't checked until that happens. But, Wall of Roots' ability is a mana ability, so if you have a Wall of Roots with 4 counters already and the ability to activate it this turn, you can generate G with it and give it a fifth counter during the paying of the costs for your Tayam activation, and then presumably use that mana and two more, plus remove three counters from Wall of Roots (or fewer from the wall and some from other permanents, of course), to finish activating Tayam. Then and only then are SBAs checked, and the Wall with 0 toughness is never actually seen by the gamestate, so to speak.

For the Tayam + Wall of Roots state based action thing: Tayams ability requires mana to be paid and counters to be removed as part of the cost. Since you technically declare that you are activating the ability first, then pay any associated costs afterwards, you can use Wall of Roots to produce the mana and remove counters from it to pay said cost. Paying costs does not allow time for state based actions to be checked, so you can put the final counter on Wall of Roots to pay the mana as long as you also end up removing enough counters from it so after the costs are paid it won't die.

For the yugioh question. Every year yugioh releases a tin that reprints all of the cards from the previous years core sets. So the 2023 tin is reprinting the 2022 sets. And it costs $20.

Felt a little hypocritical. Shot down the one person for a straw man argument and then asks if you would ban a 2 mana In Garruks Wake, when he says yes then he says thats what orcish bowmasters is. That is a pretty unreasonable comparison, also orcish bowmasters scales with the pod. WIthin my casual group its only pinging for 1-3 damage per turn cycle and because of all the hype its removed pretty fast.

As far as other properties that could become universes beyond instalments, Conan the Barbarian is up there IMO. They've already done a Frank Frazetta art secret layer so the jump is not far at all.

Regarding the universes beyond I think they've so far done an absolutely stellar job of the crossover. The Warhammer 40k decks were some of the best flavour, well designed in line with both IP's set they've done in the past few years for sure.

Favorite win was a Modern 2K where I was on UW Control vs Green Tron. After time was called, on Turn 5, I made them draw from an empty deck with double Archmage’s Charm. Close wins after long grindy matches are suuuper satisfying

Dylan! If you love gitrog in casual, but hate getting hated, I recommend Old Rutstein. The deck will play the same but under the radar, and you can run the gitrog lich combo, and also the Jared lord of extinction combo too! GITROGGGG!!!

The Tayam + Wall of roots interaction is interesting, you essentially put the Tayam activation on the stack, then declare how you are going to pay for it. Since wall of roots has a mana ability, it can be activated during the casting of a spell or activated ability, so you can add the mana with wall, giving it 0 toughness, but as an additional activation cost you, get to remove 3 counters, allowing your wall of roots to survive.

Tyler is very good in the mid to late game. You DYLAN have said so yourself on multiple occasions, any game that drags out into the mid to late game, as far as player vs player is concerned the more Tyler is favored because he is very good at sitting, waiting, and watching. I also feel like that is why he works so well with kinnan is because kinnan is perfectly fine sitting on itself and a hand full of interaction and doing nothing else but waiting with a concreted sphinx and a fish and a rhystic study for the first person who decides to try to win then responding with like 12 different pieces of interaction…. And maybe a void winnor

My favorite win was Oath of the Gatewatch game day when I played Bant Assault Formation and I won with 1/4 fliers when my opponent was at 4 and had a Dragonlord Dromoka. I only won because I used Dazzling Gleam to prevent the combat damage and lifelink of Dromoka.

Quick note about Trinisphere: Convoke, Delve and Improvise WILL help you pay less than 3 mana if TS i out. That's because they're ways to pay a cost, not something that reduces it beforehand.

My take is that combat will always be at a disadvantage for the sole reason of summoning sickness. There is a literal key piece of MTG that says combo decks can win one turn faster. So unless they print more commanders, creatures, and effects that put creatures in play with haste or big enough creatures at low mana we will continue to see Cedh specifically have a more combo focused style to it. Not to say combat wont be top tier, but the biggest combat based effect commanders would need to have card advantage, buffing, and prison effects all in the command zone at low enough mana to keep up with combo and that would be a tall order. Breena was an example of this that I wished to see more of, but breena specifically is in a color pairing difficult to abuse her power. Edit: the other side is kill spells and board wipes are very mana efficient now so creatures that stick is a big problem. There is more creature removal than combo disruption that is practical to run in a cedh deck too. The meta might change but I agree with your statement of "it would disrupt casual" (looking at hullbreacher as an example of "didnt affect cedh as much but destroyed casual play"

For the discard mechanic there should be a mechanic which says when you cast this spell copy it for each opponent each copy must target a diffrent player or permanent they control and have it cost one more mana so a thoughtaieze that for 2 mana and 6 life does it to 3 players

Not to be a one up guy, but I also had a similar memorable win to Dylan. I was playing at a tcgplayer 5k and mulled to 2 playing affinity keeping glimmervoid and mox opal on the draw, opponent was on wrb aristocrats and thoughtsiezed me taking opal... I won off the back of my opponent playing two dark confidants while my opponent had two blood artists out but couldn't find a sac outlet. I somehow snuck a ensoul artifact on a vault scourge and made a 10 life point swing and he died to his dark confidants two turns later... I was stunned lol

19:49 i have a casual kinan deck! Its eldrazi tribal, so like 90% of my dudes are 10+ mana and I’m just hoping to ramp into them or flip them off kinan. It has combos in it, but thats just because i believe every deck should have a way to forcibly close the game (just basalt monolith and either stonework packbeast or mirage mirror for infinite colored mana into thrasios-ing into thor. But not EVERY TUTOR EVER PRINTED)

My biggest loss was in a cEDH game with my K'rrik deck. I had Villis, Broker of Blood on the board with an Aetherflux Reservoir. I activated Aetherflux to try to blow up my opponents, only to realize that Villis sees that 50 life loss. The worst part is that I realized later I had an instant-speed out in hand that I had missed.

It's also not just that bowmaster punishes card draw, it's that it's virtually no cost to include in a deck at 2 mana single black pip that literal worst case scenario still does 1 damage to any target and creates 2 1/1s at instant speed. Even if it didn't have any other text that would be very playable in any casual deck that has black and honestly worth considering in some cedh decks. If you remove the etb that card is fine, if you add another color pip to it that card is fine. At 2 mana though with such insane upside as the floor it's just too mindless of an include in any black deck while at the same time having the potential to be a one card win con. I just really wish it cost Black Red. It's such a rakdos effect anyways, and that would make it have some deckbuilding restriction.

How many total viable cEDH decks are there in the format currently? I'm sure an exact number might be hard to nail down, but approximately? I'm a casual player with 17 total decks, one is a Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain that is probably a high 9. It literally just needs a handful of the more pricey cards like the OG dual land, 2 or 3 more Mox, Force and Pact of Negotian. I'm just wondering how much actual variety there is in cEDH. I'm a cEDH noob, but there does seem to be a lot of repetitive strategies from game to game so I'm wondering what the tier list is at the moment?

Best art; OG Elesh Norn, not close. I want to take a crack at making aggro viable w/out screwing up casual or 60 card format. What if there were a few pieces of equipment that granted some bonus, maybe 3.. one grants hexproof one evasion and one buffs power., they cause the equipped creature to deal its combat damage as if it were your commander. “Pendant of the right hand”, “sword of the right hand” something like that. And what if there was a legendary creature that really took advantage of fast mana the way dockside does? Like a dude that ETB’s w +1/+1 counters equal to the number of artifacts and enchantments opponents control then it gets another counter each time an opponent casts their second spell each turn? As for the hand disrupting stuff it could literally just be a few cards that are duress/thoughtseize/inquisition that cost B1; look at each opponents hand and do the thing 🤷‍♂️. Well. Just want to share this. So i don't have timetwister. And there was a tournament with no proxy. So i replace the timetwister from my rogsi into leyline of anticipation. So, this was not the final but 2 matches before final. I got on 3rd seat. And i got that letline. And got turn 0 win on the first player's upkeep. I still remember it.
