I don't understand why cam didnt use his haywire mite to exile the counterbalance. It would have let him go off with the LED, which probably would have won him the game on his underworld breach turn.

The spellskite can redirect the haywire mite's ability to itself and since spellskite is a creature the ability would fizzle, so Cam couldn't do use it, no?

@@un_nuageit depends if the spellskite can change that target to in invalid target. I know it doesn’t work with counterspells, but not sure about haywire mite

The Raffine-Decklist is not correct, he discarded Tinybones at 9:17 which isn't in the Decklist. Would you mind updating it, I'm very curious about that particular Commander :D

Simon here. I made the decklist after playing the game, and Tinybones was borrowed from a friend so I forgot to put it in the list. It has been updated now. The card it replaced was Dark Confidant I think

I have wondered if laughing jasper flint has a home in CEDH, he can provide a chunk of card advantage as a rakdos good stuff pile as prosper, ragavan, dockside etc are outlaws and stealing cards of other decks for advantage since theft decka naturally want turbo type mana bases

Oi lads. Quick note; I’ve noticed that your “teasers” for your upcoming episodes are really only appearing in my shorts feed the day of the episodes release. I’m not sure if it’s a timing thing in your settings or if that’s how you’re announcing the release of a new episode; but, if it’s meant to be a teaser to generate interest I think it’s coming out in conjunction with the episode and not the day or so before.

To me personally, the Raffine list looked pretty much like super-high power EDH or low-tier cEDH because I think there are better cards than Time Warp for example. Don't mean to say it's bad because it obviously won the game, so it can't be that bad. Reminds me of Edric which is also super fun to play considering that you kind of draw an similar amount of cards. Very nice game.

Yes it’s not as good as something like Tymna Malcom but as a stand alone deck it’s definitely a fully fleshed out cedh deck and deserves respect, (your totally right that the extra turn effects are a bit wild)

It would, but Jonas was going to concede no matter the outcome, so it didn't really matter. He was at one life facing down a Bowmasters and multiply counterspells.

Possibly very stupid idea for a podcast/game I had: commanderless CEDH. Since a lot of CEDH and the conversation around CEDH is based on the idea that the 99 is more important than the commander, what's the best 99 if you aren't ALLOWED to play a commander? Which Grixis 99s perform better than other Grixis 99s? How well do the 99S of RogSi, Blue Farm, BloodPod, vs Kinnan do? (the answer is great, fine, eh, and abysmal, respectively)

Okay I've never gotten how Niv Mizzets get away with saying "I win" with Niv+Curiosity effects alone. Like, if your deck isn't bigger than everyone else's life total, and you don't have a way to reshuffle your hand/graveyard at instant speed, you CAN draw your entire deck and finish by pinging Niv Instead or something... but you still need to actually win the game.

Karevek ability gets around time rulings

Kaervek allows you to cast that the spell right then or never. Many other abilities give you the ability to cast a spell from a different zone but give you a larger window. That window gives you permission to cast it from a zone you normally can't but does not change what time you can cast it.

Love you guys but this game made me so sad. You tunnel visioned Niv so hard and did NOTHING to stop raffine. Dylan could’ve removed raffine like 2 times and Cam could’ve Mited that Teferis Insight… Jonas would’ve probably backed you up with counterspells if necessary. Definitely not you guys’ best game
