You didn't recline the second row seats enough, that's why your cup holders aren't in the correct position. I have a 2023 Pajero Sport GLS deluxe pack and love it. Not going to beat any land speed records, not going to beat other brands with fancy tech but why when you have a very good car with an amazing 4wd system. The car goes anywhere without having to spend over $75,000+

We bought a new Pajero Sport about 3.5 years ago. Ours came with a 7 year 150k warranty. Reasons we settled on the PS compared to the competition..... Ford Everest. Expensive. MANY reports of reliability problems, and some alarmibg reports of 6 month old cars being riddled with rust, with owners lockedinto nasty battles with Ford. Toyota Fortuner. The DPF saga was ongoing, with Toyota playing the denal card and shafting owners. Expensive also. Short service intervals. And a 3rd ror seat design that looks like it was lifted from a 1990's Prado..... No tech like Android auto either, which the PS had on release in 2015.... No AWD mode either. Isuzu MUX. The latest gen was not released when we bought, so this comparison would posdibly be different now. 1st Gen MUX, horrible interior, no rear diff lock, no tech, shorter warranty than the PS. No AWD mode. We've had a few cosmetic issues fixed on our Pajero Sport, and Mitsubishi have redesigned the intercooler inlet and outlet pipes which I have had replaced under warranty due to weeping. The dealer and Mitsubishi have not put up any arguments, with regard to sorting out my complants, so overall it has been a great ownership experience. We haven't had any electrical or mechanical faults in nearly 50k of driving so far. The factory Toyo tyres the PS rolls out of the factory with are absolute garbage and a death trap on wet bitumen. The intercooler hoses are made of cheese and split prematurely, but aftermarket silicone hoses are a cheap addition to improve reliability as I have done on mine. Otherwise, all reports suggest that the PS is extremely reliable. You could do a lot worse than buying one of these cars!

I have owned the same generation Montero Sport (Philippine market) for almost 8 years now and it's almost trouble-free owning it. I say almost trouble-free because the manual transmission leaked a bit of fluid and the technicians had no knowledge on how to fix it. Luckily, I know a mechanic friend that also worked on other cars where he twisted the spring on the rubber seal and the leak never came back again.

Solid however boring performer. I purchased a Pajero Sport GLS many years ago as a work vehicle for towing purposes, functional and does everything with ease, the engine does have serious turbo lag which can catch the driver out, I tended to drive in AWD mode (4H Open) and using the Paddle Shifters / Gear Lever to, leaving it in drive would cause the transmission to always go to top gear however that was not good especially when towing as turbo lag was really bad, I found 5th and 6th gears were the sweet spot at 100km/h when towing. From the drivers perspective, seat was great for long distance driving, never felt bad when ever exiting the Pajero Sport, sight lines were also very good, everything was within reach, being hydraulic steering there was great feedback and well weighted at all road speeds none of that artificial nonsense you get from electric steering, brakes were progressive feel and the ride balance (note on 18" alloys) was always compliant on road, off road? heavily corrugated dirt roads were not so good to drive on. Overall the Pajero Sport is a fine middle of the pack vehicle, in other words it does the job enough.

Test drove the Pj sport, Mux and everest. Had my heart set on Pj sport for the SS 4x4 system and reliability. BUT The Pj sport is small on the inside, 2nd row seats have pretty much the same amount of space as our current cx-5. The fuel tank is small 60L, top tether points are weird, infotainment/interior is dated and 3rd row seats fold strange and waste boot space. Keen to see the improvements they make with the new model as the new triton looks bigger and will hopefully fix those other issues.

The felt the Pajero Sport steering to be heavy and the acceleration out of the roundabouts was so, so slow. The engine may be old and reliable. But the times have changed and moved forward and it needs to be refined and reliable.
@351tgv Жыл бұрын
I would rather hydraulic engine sensitive power steering, sure it loads ups up weight at lower speeds but do you really need finger tip control at parking speeds? at least at highway speeds you can feel what the road is doing through the steering, than the garbage that is artificial feel electric steering , horrendous, does have it purpose: yes for lane cantering, but most people know B&M (figure it out) about lane centring and switch it off or set it to its lowest sensitive setting so again electric steering is garbage and its negliable if there is any fuel economy gain by not having a pump on the crank to provide assistance.,
@351tgv Жыл бұрын
as for the engine and transmission, the interesting thing is that Triton which has the same tow rating gets the 6-speed torque converter while Pajero Sport get 8-speed torque converter, the unofficial claim was the 8-speed with the 2 extra lower gears (1st and 2nd) counter act turbo lag that this engine (sadly) has, of you have had the chance to back to back drive the Triton and Pajero Sport auto versions you will know what I mean by turbo lag, engine has nothing then BAM at 2,5000rpm torque come son and BOOST happens all the way to about 3,800rpm, that is great is driving it as a manual in 3rd gear but in auto yeesh LAG city.
