Have just come across this ,my it stirred some beautiful memories. Lived in Australia for 20 odd years,had never heard of John until then, was asked by an Aussie neighbour to go with her to his concert as her hubby didn't want to go. Can honestly say it was one of the best live performances I ever saw. John had the most incredible voice,his range was off the planet and he had such a warm funny ,beautiful interaction with his fans. He was brilliant & I became a firm fan. This duet with the lovely soulful Olivia gave me goosebumps ,they were such great friends, a very special bond.❤

I totally agree. I was involved in the music scene over a long period (some 65 years in all) and have experienced many fine artistes and songs. There are many songs and singers I have judged to be very special - all of them making an indelible imprint on my wealth of memories. However, this “Please Don’t Ask Me” duet by Johnny and the beloved and late-Olivia is simply outstanding in every aspect and is an utterly fantastic legacy for all of us now and into the future to be particularly touched by, to wonder at and to cherish in our individual hearts.

Something worthwhile to say which I neglected to include in my earlier post was to acknowledge the role of the very fine pianist and his fellow-musicians in the accompanying orchestra; and the fine interpretation and direction given them by their Musical Director. Let’s not forget either the part played by the sound and lighting technicians and other support staff who all contributed in one way or another to this most memorable production. They are all top class and deserve an accolade for the part they played in this outstanding production. All involved are deserving of a special accolade.

We were so fortunate to grow up with John Farnham on the radio, records or when my mum would play one of his songs on our piano in the lounge room. After he recorded Rain Drops Keep Falling on my head she went to our local music shop and bought the sheet music. That song will always remain special. I was 11 when it was released. Not long ago read the book PLAYING TO WIN. It is a fantastic biography on John Farnham, Australia nearly lost him over board aged 11. Thank god he clung on. Olivia Newton John, she's a diamond, sparkling forever in our skies and in peace now. We are so proud of Livvy and Johnny.

Oh wow, to hear this again brings back to many memories, my wife and I have been to so many John Farnham concerts including this one, The Main Event. Around 2007, I was lucky enough to be invited by a friend to perform this song with her at a couple of her concerts, we were both in tear every time we sang it. I was also asked, and persuaded by my wife, to sing it at her funeral in 2019, I barely made it through.
