To this point I’d say this is the best FM save I’ve seen. To develop/sign as many good young players while climbing the leagues, and at the same time being financially responsible, is a great effort! I suppose this is what you can achieve when FM is your full time job 😂

Yo Jack just a tip on selling players; if you go to the transfer screen for an individual player where you set their asking price (not the offer out screen), you can scroll up as far as possible to the highest fee that your player is cool with which is usually higher than their market value or around their market value. After doing this, ask the players agent (or intermediary’s, either works) and you’ll get way higher offers than you usually would and you’ll usually always get an offer

I'd try Lee min at CB and Ndiaye at RB, especially if you are coming up against a team that isn't a threat in the air. Jumping reach isn't everything, and Lee min can defend! Nevermind, I commented that before the 201cm Rodriguez turned up, love it!

I still think a back 3 with the box in place would be better here and one of those two would do fine in a back 3. Stick a libero in the back 3 and then you would get an extra midfielder or even go WCB and let them roam together om the left similar to Scotland in real life with Robertson and tierney

Haddad doesn’t have a lot of yellow attributes,but he has a lot at 14 and 15. He looks good tbh and his value will probably go up if you sign him so can at least make a profit on him if anything. Edit - I wrote this before Jack confirmed the deal and I can now see Haddad’s value is over 79 million. Thought Jack would save it for next episode 😂

GK is such a special position because even high potencial ones almost never achieve it, the thing with they coming with low ability makes it hard for the ai Teams to use them, so they do not grow! Until the game feels the need to create a world beater!

Carnesecchi is by far the best option, hands down. I've found that this year physicals don't matter at all for goalies (exact opposite for the rest of the players) and good one on ones & handling is paramount. Carnesecchi can absolutely be a Champions league winning goalkeeper even 4 years from now (if he isn't retired).

You should make more use of the 'ask agent about interest' option. It's the thing I start with now, sometimes there's just teams waiting (who might not be there otherwise) and you don't have to go with the formal option of offering them out. I tend to offer them out anyway after but at least you can find out what the interest is like first

What a good bit of business Boulton was. Jack found a midfielder and saw his attributes were perfect for RB and now he has a £100M RB in his squad. Give him a year or two more in the EPL and you'll have the top teams banging down your door for that man.

The first transfer special in the EPL, can't wait to watch. Very sad to see Gasperi go, I think he is a good squad player. Regarding the ratings of the DMs: your team conceded 8 more goals than it should have, that does not only mean that your GK is to blame, it means your entire defense is to blame. So it's not that surprising that your defensive players don't have good ratings when they don't score or assist - which DMs rarely do compared to wing backs or even center backs from corners. Your good league placement did not come from good defensive work, it came from scoring like crazy.

xG is calculated when the shot is taken, so the defence did its job and Schumacher directly resulted in 8 more goals conceded than expected.

Not surprised about the new formation. Unfortunately, in FM certain positions have better roles than others. I usually go for 2 strikers as they are better than CAM. Wide AM are even better. Can you drop a wors in you vids Jack ro suggest to SI we'd love better options in those positions?

Also players ask for a stupid wage once they've already entered negotiations with another club. That's what that kid who went to Real did (and why he signed for them for much less.) Same with that Sevilla keeper last year IIRC. Once they're in talks with another club (and have been offered a deal which they're probably gonna accept), they're basically like 'why should I even consider talking to you unless you wanna offer me like 50% more.' I hate it but it's probably somewhat realistic

xg dosent mean how saveable a shot is only how likely a shot from there is to going in. An unstoppable rocket top bins from far outside the box is gonna have a lower xg than a pea roller from inside the small box. But with that said i do agree in finding a new GK

XG factors in the likelyhood of a shot going in based on the position of the shooter, defenders around them and the goalkeeper at the time of the shot. I'm fully aware of how it works but fundementally if your goalkeeper has a positive XGC it's not a good sign.

he has a point though. To be able to judge a goalkeeper by stats we would need post-shot-xG which FM doesn't provide. Over- or underperformance of xGc doesn't correlate to goalkeeper performance. But I agree that Schumacher is kinda bad. @@WorkTheSpace

But you see them play way more than the viewsers so i dont doubt you for a second when you say the ratings are just FM things and that the cb's have done fine while the gk havent been good. I didn't really like the look of Haddad at first, but the more I see his attributes, the more I like him. Is he worth 35 million? I doubt it. Will he be some sort of saviour? Probably not. But he is an upgrade and could perhaps be surprisingly good. Also, with any luck his value will be high next summer, so if he hasn't been good enough or a better option becomes available, you could perhaps atleast get back those 35 million, maybe even make a bit of profit. I am a bit surprised the reputation hasn't gone up more, but perhaps a good showing in Europe can help with that? And a top 4 position in the league........and of course a cup title....

How much is the release clause for the sevilla keeper? If he's interested in joining he's worth the whole budget. Any upgrade in keeper is going to result in more points, worth investing in even for a marginal upgrade. If you don't concede those 8 extra goals then you finish slightly higher and make more prize money and now you're in Europe any wins earn that money back. Schumacher is a scrub and can't play for another year.

You don't need a new GK, you need to get rid off BPD from your CB and get your defensive line closer to your GK, they are to much up and it's the biggest reason you conceived so many goals. Fix your tactics before you waste money on new GK.
