She is not necessarily studying to be a chemist. That's just her field of study. Usually when you go into certain professions you have to do a chemistry or biology field. I was a chemistry major and I am a pharmacist, but I graduated undergrad with my BS in chemistry. She might be going to school to be some kind of doctor.

Damien you are a MESS!!!! I made the mistake of watching this on my lunch break and got all the "cousins" (they ain't brothahs or sistahs) at my job looking at me like I'm crazy. Dying from laughter, but I love all the truth and positivity poured into your videos. I started my loc journey this year after my husband lost his 2 foot locs during chemo. I apply the knowledge I've gained and I'm loving my results. I'm coming to Houston, even if it'd just for one sit down in your chair! Lots of love! Bless

Bro you are the man I like your channel I like what you stand for it’s very important that people learn to respect each other and why do people do this to one another you’re absolutely right I’ve experienced it just recently I went to someone that said they knew how to interlock and what they were doing was using two locks and pushing them through each others roots knotting up my hair in the back and in the front she was going to same direction which caused big holes in the roots 2 to 3 inches in length and also causing the hair to be twisted where it would have never locked because of the space between the hair it was a disaster thank God I caught it in time and I’ve learned my lesson. So much good information - SO glad I found Damian and his videos. I was also told not to condition my hair - I did some research before starting my locs and several sources said don't condition. Damian got me back on the right path - I now condition my locs whenever I wash them, and in between as well. His products are very good for my hair - my locs are NOT hard and crunchy. I started mine with extensions (human hair - saw how to do it on Damian's channel) and have been slowly trimming the extensions as my hair grows. Soon there will be nothing by MY hair left in my locs and I couldn't be happier. Thanks again to Damian and his team for doing all these videos!

Speaking of faux locs! I saw Jazz Nicole the KZbinr do some bomb bohemian locs, so I tried it, I loved it, I took them down and I noticed in the areas where I had the single crochets (I had the traditional crochet braids in the back of my head, and the single crochet in the front of my head. The single crochet is where you braid your own hair in to box braids, and just crochet the loc through the base of the braid, then unwind the loc, then wrap it around the box braid) I have breakage. Not HORRIBLE. But its noticeable. A part of me is kinda pissed, another part is like, anh, its just hair, just deep condition and it will grow. But, you know, protective styling and the supposed benefits. So peeps, these faux locs are no joke. You have to be careful with them.

OMG I LOVE THIS MAN!!! I happened upon his videos while watching LOC journey videos last night. I, after watching back to back videos of his for 1 hour, scheduled my loc starter appt. (mind you I already have an existing appt with another loctician, but I will be cancelling that cause that person quoted me $60 more than what Damian will do it for) AAAAAAND Damian clearly has much more knowledge. THERE WAS NOOO WAY I COULD LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS ME BY! I CANNOT see anybody else, not only starting my locs, but also seeing me throughout my loc journey. My loctician used the same technique as faux locs to install my locs because she said my hair was long and she didn't want them puffy. in many of them you can still see the spirals more than a year later. after she told me to not wash my hair for 6 months (I washed it myself in one month) and she died my hair a darker color than I asked for I decided to do it myself. palm rolling every 1.5 to 2 months and regular washing. Sometimes you have to use your own sense and know your hair because "locticians" don't always have Damien's knowledge or skill.
