Please Stop Writing Your Characters Like This - Analyzing Superman

Sup guy’s Auden here, and in today’s entry, we’ll be going over one of my biggest pet peeves in fiction. Which are consistent flawless characters with no mental challenge. Check comments for more.

Well edited video. Props for that. There’s many points made in this video that just aren’t true. First is that Superman isn’t perfect. He suffers immensely from loneliness and can often be naive, impulsive, and overly stubborn to a negative degree. He routinely struggles with the fact that he can’t save everyone, no matter how hard he tries. This is best shown in the comic titled Superman Peace on Earth. Lex is also a perfect contrast to Superman. Clark is a hopeful man in a world devoid of any hope. Lex attributes his cynicism with intelligence while equating Superman’s optimism to naïveté, which isn’t necessarily true. They directly contrast each other. Also, using Zack Snyder’s interpretation of Superman as a knock against the character is plain silly. Zack didn’t understand the core of the character and believes in a philosophy that goes against everything Superman symbolizes. While yes you’re right that Lex has challenged Superman physically, he challenges him mentally much more frequently. As I said before Lex is very cyclical and believes that Superman’s hopefulness makes him naive, but Clark isn’t stupid or naive. He sees the darkness of humanity. He just choses to have faith in the goodness of mankind and it’s limitless potential for good. He inspires them to be better, to be kind to your fellow neighbor through leading by example. That’s what Superman is about. He isn’t perfect as I said before. He just tries every single day to do the right thing simply because he wants to and he has the power to do so. No other reason than that. Altruism in its purest form.

FR Given how in depth his videos go into looking at Batman and even Spider-Man, you'd expect that same courtesy to be extended here. On an analytical critic level, it's pr disappointing cause even OP acknowledges it's surface level.

@@Mr.DelicateTouch The really hard part is in the Caribbean Batman is seen as this unrelatable know it all,whose always smarter than the villain. This might just be a first world thing. Honestly he should not be making videos with this heavily lazy levels of research. It's really shameful how confident he is in his arrogance on a subject he knows nothing about

@@theultimateartist4153 I think that view of Batman is actually pretty consistent with how he’s characterized at times. And yeah, it’s surprising how confident he is when he’s so very wrong on pretty much every level.

This video is really really bad, I've consumed thousands of hours of youtube content but this really takes the award for one of the laziest and dishonest essays Ive seen. Then you put a disclaimer in the comments when it should be at the front of the video LOLOLOL!! Anyone with a microphone and a video editor is free is to spread ignorance about topics they know nothing. This should be studied for future essayist on how to NOT do research and most importantly how to repel people from the comics Fandom

The fact that you sat down this whole video and watched and retained all of the information and came to this conclusion proves YOU NEED TO BE STUDIED. I'm tired of all these poser Comic Fanboy Tiktok fans who know nothing but the 15-second bs they absorb once a week and think they know about Comics!
