@@SDfighter1 Tbh outside of characters, Ultimate is not a hard game to top. It's got a lot of problems like buffer, no rollback, input delay, and Quickplay. Series staple modes are just completely missing too like All Star Battle, Boss Rush, Events, and Target Smash.

I have never played KH, but I think this is amazing just from a "How the hell did Nintendo convince Disney to use one of their IPs without signing all their creative rights away as the price?" To be fair, Sora's counter could be useful against moves with armor. Normal counters don't interrupt armored moves, but Sora's might since it staggers the opponent.

I'm not into Sora or Kingdom Hearts personally, and was indifferent to hear it was Sora. But he looks fun and his stage looks beautiful, and the fact that he was THE highest voted ballot character is kinda nuts. I guess he deserves to be in if that was the case.

@@RacingSnails64 We all knew that the polls didn't give us a clear picture because we didn't have a lot out of Japan, but it seems like polling on Sora was kinda muted in general. Overall, though, the ballot polls did quite well, as all the top characters in the various big consolidation polls did get into the game in some way. Still surprised Sora "won" the ballot, though. KH isn't a small franchise or anything but its not a massively huge one either, so you'd think something else would be pushing that instead. Especially since at the time of the ballot Cloud wasn't even in yet either. As for Sora himself... KH is okay to me and Sora is just overall meh. I've never cared much for Sora personally, and I feel like he just looks a bit too generic as a fighter, too. I didn't expect a big character at the end, but I was hoping at the very least the fighter would bring something really unique to the table and I just don't see it regarding Sora. Still, I'll try him out, I might as well because I already bought the pass.

The ballot being saved for ultimate makes so much sense. At the time the Banjo hype was crazy, same with K rool. Look who we got. Cloud was recently added to smash so it'd make sense for a ton of people to put Sephiroth Persona 5 recently came out and look who we got. And Sora was pretty much always popular so I mean yeah Chrom, Daisy, K Rool and Inkling all placed top 5 for the nintendo results.

Looking back in retrospect, this really was handled perfectly (aside from that one leaked on 4chan). I’m so glad that they decided to make the last reveal trailer not so much a “Sora reveal trailer,” but a “Final Ultimate newcomer reveal trailer.” Basically what I mean is that I appreciate that they didn’t fill the trailer with a bunch of Kingdom Hearts references. Yes, that might have been a better trailer for the KH fans, but it would have been so anticlimactic for anyone who didn’t care for KH. Taking the route of making it a Smash celebration rather than a KH celebration was something that I don’t think people realize quite enough.

Yes KH is a lot Disney and Anime nonsense but in the best possible way! I highly recommend everyone who likes Final Fantasy and/or Disney to try KH at least once! It is a very special journey that no other series provides like KH does. You may not like it but if you do you will probably fall heavily in love with it like many of us fans did.

Thank god his down tilt isn't another baseball slide. I'll take a stall-n-fall over a baseball slide, especially since his stall-n-fall looks like it actually works thanks to it being actionable really fast compared to the others. Sora's counter might be good in doubles with Sephiroth after a shield break, or maybe with a powerful projectile like Samus' charge shot regardless of shield break status. I am determined to main all four SE characters.

I think "gekki" means "thunder"; I went through a mega man x phase, & in x4, zero gets an attack called "raijingekki", which translates to "thunder god attack"

Yeah, a lot of people are saying the processing is wonky on this one. I can get 1080p even in an Incognito window but some people have less quality options, some only low ones, etc. Issue on KZbin's end, it should sort itself out at some point.

Literally the best counter I could've asked for, at least if crown essentially behaves like normal but still hits K Rool. I have a friend who mains K Rool. I'm tired of him winning. And he only learns about characters through fighting them. A poor decision on his part. ...still doesn't guarantee I'm gonna win in any way, but it's one interaction I'm going to enjoy at least. Also, his counter stuns them, I'm assuming that means super armored attacks will be stunned as well.

Wonderwing can be grabbed, it's not fully invincible. Kaclang however, is fully invincible, but Sora can counter it if he catches it in the air

KZbin is being weird with the processing on the HD version, happens every now and then for some reason. The original is in 1080p, it'll update here sooner or later but you may still be able to manually switch to it

Thanks for your understanding. As a KH fan since the first game in 2002 I can’t express how happy I am about Sora coming to Smash (wich I also follow since the first game on the N64). This is a dream come true and it is really sad seeing people hate this so much. I understand it’s disappointing for those who wished for something else but I think we should just be happy for each other. I mean I wasn’t hating when Joker, Terry or Hero got announced. Instead I was happy for the fans and that their games got represented in Smash.
