lmao I've been a kirby main since melee, especially now in Ultimate, I have NEVER claimed that Kirby is a top tier. I just love the character and that's why I play him. The thing is, in the recent kirby games, sword kirby has had a move similar to final cutter that would give you the best of both worlds. It would let you do an uppercut with decent height, then if you wanted to and you pressed attack again it would let you slam down in a combo. I dont know why they couldn't give him a similar move in SSBU

You put Olimar, Rosalina, Mewtwo, Sora, and Steve as shoe-ins but I feel they are actually at a pretty high risk of getting chopped if a reboot comes along. Rosalina had two games that she didn’t even do much in and just doesn’t feel necessary with so much Mario rep, Pikmin is a huge IP for Nintendo but Olimar doesn’t stand out to me as a staple smash pick, Mewtwo is just a feeling idk, with Sora SE has proven to be annoying with their IPs just for the sake of being annoying, then the devs had to rework the entire game solely to add Steve so they might just not want to do that again.

I mostly want a more aesthetically customizable Mii Fighter. Three clothing slots (head, torso, legs), 1 weapon, 1 weapon fx. (Think: Team Rocket Grunt wearing Board shorts/slippers wielding a Butterfly Net!)

For Kirby's up B, I'd see a mix between DeDeDe and Sephiroth. If you tap the up b, it's upper cutter. If you press/maintain up B, it's final cutter. It makes you keep both in a way that's still quite easy to understand for beginners he is made for. It's also important to differenciate them with the first input because the temeo moves are quite different right from the start, with one being slower and not launching the opponent the same way when at the peak of the jump And please Nintendo, make his drag up combo into his drag down with final cutter, like mii brawler or Ike

For kirby’s it’s an easy fix, Change the model to a sword and it’s Upward Slash, give press B for the downward part and it’s Sword Dive. Basically Cloud’s Up B, but for Kirby, keeps all it’s parts and you can use Upper Cutter canonically… Or better yet, just make the model a sword for Upward Slash.

I think some cooldowns are okay, if they don't just remove your ability to do anything, like with Garnet's gauntlets for example, when they are on cooldown you can still attack by charging into the opponent, that significantly improves the concept of a cooldown itself I remember beta batman being so infuriating because the batarang move didn't do anything in cooldown and with the extreme speed the game had back then it was so easy to try to punch someone just to call onto the batarang while it wasn't ready and eat dirt because you're stuck doing nothing It's sadly still a very prominent feature of most cooldowns, that is sad

Easy fix would be to give it the climhazzard treatment (cloud's up special) one tap is upper cutter, tap it again for final cutter.

I honestly prefer this over the beta.But my biggest problem with it is the levelling up system it’s slow and feels clunky some quest requires to have a specific character like “hit with jokers bazooka 6 times” I don’t even have that character so that’s 4 weekly quests that I can’t do (I have 4 of the same quests that I can’t do)

It's insane because the patches in the beta were mainly around hit and hurt boxes which didn't seem to make it into full release

When you did Chrom, you missed most of the cinematography because you were in a free-for-all. In 1v1 the camera work is a lot more dynamic. That's true of Roy's and a few other ones too.

The thing about Pyra's Burning Sword that will never make sense to me is why they do that dumb little hop first. It's not part of the attack, because afterward they bring the sword all the way to the ground and pause for a moment, killing all momentum before raising it up again to summon the fire pillar. It's not to move closer to the target either, because they already hit and staggered the enemy to start with and the jump doesn't actually move forward any. They do it in their home game too, and there it only serves to shoehorn in another quicktime button press (and makes it even more obvious they don't actually move anywhere and just waste time jumping in place). I get that Smash has to faithfully recreate the reference, but the original bugged the crap out of me too. I wish they'd done anything else; for example, wouldn't it look much better if they dragged the sword on the ground between them, throwing sparks or a fire trail before they raise it up and summon the pillar?

The problem with these Smash clones (Multiver, Nick All Star, SlapCity, etc) is they wanna be like Smash so bad yet they lack the deep complex move sets and mechanics that make those games so appealing.

I think the one caveat is that with Final Cutter now beginners can to use it on-stage as a long-range projectile move, and Kirby is often a basic beginner character to teach players the game
