Guitarist Paul Pesco did recordings with them (as well as tour live) but you're right, the actual group members were Mic Murphy and David Frank.

I remember first hearing this song playin' in the background on a Miami Vice episode & then went out & bought the cassette the next day ...its a shame because it never got much airplay on soul radio here in Philly which was a travesty...it shoulda been a smash hit Look at how it has the Soul Train gang up & jammin'

These guys were ahead of their time. It was just the singer and the keyboard player (white guy), the others are just for performing live. One of the first groups to use analog synthesizers and sequencers. amazing musicians. sure it looks a little goofy now, because it was over 30 years ago. just close your eyes and listen to the music.

Mic Murphy was even ahead of Michael Jackson with those moves. They used some of the most advanced equipment like the Lynn 9000 drum machine with internal hard drive. These guys rock and should be inducted in the hall of fame for innovators of trend setting music and styles. Oh, how I miss my DX keyboard. I gave it away cause I seriously injured my hand and stopped playing, but now it's better.

For those of you complaining about the lip syncin/fake playing, Soul Train makes everyone do it. No one played live on this show.
@donnis6187 жыл бұрын
Actually, there were a few acts that did perform live on Soul Train, especially in the beginning. But you are right, the vast majority did lip sync just like most of the shows back then
@adc23274 жыл бұрын
You will find a few live performances on Soul Train. Don Cornelius said the studio where they filmed was not set up for live performances. It was difficult and time consuming for staff and artists so they stopped the live performances.
