My heart sank when I saw Ariah's 'abstract'....I think he needs an andersen easel! But what a fabulous recovery. Both paintings have the energy of smaller previous ones-I'm so impressed that you both can complete that size in just a few hours with such beautiful results.

Dude you already know I’m a huge fan of not only your paintings but the way you go about your videos and how you live a waterman’s life, but I gotta give some major props to Ariah, the amount I’ve watched his skillsets level up to what it is today has been awesome to watch. You guys rock and I love the energy when you both work together. Good vibes.

Thanks guys for another adventure in plein air never a dull moment with you two. I feel Ariah's misfortune made him loosen his painting up in a good way, nice save.

Such a good one, Michael! Thank you. I think my favorite part was watching Ariah recover like he did - wow! I'm a complete novice, and had that happen in my first workshop. I'm so glad that happens to the best, and that all is not lost! One question if you could? Can you give me 3-4 plein air artist that you admire, just to steer me toward more inspiration? Thanks!

Hmm.. Oils by William Wendt and Maynard Dixon, and watercolors by Sargent and Hopper.

First of all you guys appear to have a wonderful relaxed working relationship so it is very easy to watch and view the results. (Great recovery by Aria). Once again both paintings are wonderful- well done. What a blessing to be in that part of the country with such an abundance of natural beauty - keep it coming 😀 and thank you!

Nice painting Michael! Nice recovery, Ariah! So, sorry that happened to you, but you ended up with a beautiful painting in the end! Love the tones you used as well! Keep painting together, guys. I love seeing your different interpretations of the same view. I'm so envious of your talents!

I just hated to see Ariah’s easel go down!! It’s happened to me before!! That Anderson is not going down!! You guys are talented I have enjoyed and learned from these videos. Thank You

Looks like Ariah just got inducted as a "true plein air artist", with his first merit badge painting. Why is it that either the painting or the palette with pigments or both always seem to land on the ground, "jam side down". That is a real time initiation of a seasoned outdoor painter. And it happens to almost everyone painting outside on windy days with a 24" x 30" huge canvas sail! Great video and great paintings? They both are very "painterly".

Thanks! First merit badge on film perhaps! He's been painting plein air for about 15 years so this has happened before.

Your way of painting concentrating on a composition, either adding or eliminating some part in order to improve the composition, underworking the painting to promote the punch and energy has been inspirational. Also your use of colours is very interesting. Also, your care in avoiding an autopilot effect is very good. Personally however, I have to „ defend“ myself from the impact of your work on my work in order not to lose my own personality which is me and not you. Thank you for your inspirational work

Two legs at the back of the easel instead of one is a no no. Inviting the easel to be blown over. Always a risk with the larger canvas. All part of the fun and experience. Well recovered, nice job. 👍

Absolutely beautiful! I love the water ripples that you are thinking of changing...just my opinion. It does look freeing to paint on a large canvas. What type of canvas do you use, it is a finer weave? Such a shame on Ariah's painting, I can imagine how frustrating that would have been. :( another great Vlog!

The weather in America varies depending on where you are. Southern California has the best weather of any place I've painted. And the scenery is amazing. The weather in Northern California can be cold, windy and foggy. Especially near the coast. Do you know of Andrew Barrowman? He's a plein air painter from Cornwall. He does beautiful plein air paintings in your part of the world. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4DEhGmugrpogbc
