Hi, doll! I love your haircut, the fringe looks amazing 💜 Plopping is great for 10-20 mins, but please refrain from plopping overnight! This technique is more to scrunch the hair in order to enhance its pattern, and any longer than that, it serves little to no purpose. The fabric blocks air from entering and being able to dry your hair. Bacteria and fungi love warm, dark, wet places to thrive in and plopping for more than 30 mins increases the chances of that to happen on your scalp. Please diffuse right after plopping to unsure a clean, dry environment there.😅

you have so much hair girl. i used to get that comment a lot until i got an undercut which i am currently (patiently) growing out. i love the volume/def that plopping gave you. and lastly, you’ve inspired me to dye my hair one color - which i’ve been scared to do but my ends are so lighttt

I have this haircut! It's my favorite for our curl type and face shape. I have had it for over 10 years now! Plopping has also been my go-to for even longer. I plop it in the shower and finish up and then take it out after drying off so, total about 40ish minutes on. I then put in my products, scrunch with another microfiber towel, and then air dry! I also get great volume, definition, and softness. You just gotta wait for it to TOTALLY dry is the thing.

Instead of using a tshirt try a micro fiber hair wrap also take your fingers and twist your curls the way you want them to lay...I also use the Cantu hair products found at Walmart they have curl shampoo, conditioner, activation cream, and their Creme pudding I have very curly hair and this works so great for me🙂 Also Aussie has came out with a new hair line called Miracle Curls which I’m loving as well! It’s great to switch your hairline products from time to time. I would love for you to try both of these products different hair products and do videos of them

There is loads of info on the curly girl reddit forums about plopping, but here is my two cents. Plopping eats the products out of your hair, this is why you didn’t have as much hold as usual, I need to put twice as much. I started plopping at the beginning of my CG journey because I know I tend to over product... Also, for sleeping overnight in the plop, I switch from my microfiber towel plop to plopping in my silk bonnet to avoid the frizzies while I sleep, still have some hold/crunch when I wake up, and actually dry (it doesn’t using just the microfiber towel). Before I had a bonnet, I would tie one of my silk pillowcases around my head to plop 😹. When undoing my overnight plop it will look like crazy town at first, but don’t freak out! Leave your hair alone, like completely alone and gravity will help bring everything back to earth, except I always get some wonky ends. The only downside to plopping is that I can’t control how it’s going to look at the end as much.

My problem is, that I've a hard time not touching my fringe or my hair after styling until it's save to do so. When I can restrain myself it's good and curly as the rest or my head. When I couldn't restrain myself ( not thinking about it) my fringe is mostly straight and dry.
