Aww I totally get you girl, I actually have straight-ish hair is a bit frizzy, I wishhh I had curly hair, it's so beautiful lolll. I used to get some curl in my hair, espec at the back but I think that was just because I wasn't conditioning the back of my hair properly and it kind of was scrunched by sitting on my neck and hood when it dried sooo ahahah. I need to find an actual curl gel though and perhaps do something about the protein since it snaps pretty easily. I'm using flaxseed gel and it just doesn't seem to hold much for me. Love your curly hair though it's absolutely beautiful, I know for a fact other people are thinking that heheh xxx

to be fair, it may be damage but it may also be simply hormones. Example: As a child my hair was pin straight, 1A. As I reached puberty my hair became "puffy" and only saw its waves and some curls when I let it grow. Basically it can be damage, but it can also just be puberty making changes

If you think your hair is “frizzy straight hair” it’s just curly hair that doesn’t have enough moisture. Mine was the same until I learned how to take care of it. You need a LOT of leave in conditioner and a light gel and you’ll probably be all set.

To answer your queatuon: when you have high porosity hair its usually from heat(tools, sun), hair color/treatments, styling damage etc. That's why Mel said your hair is damaged but balanced in the chart. Also when you have true hygral fatigue the only way to fix is is to cut it off. So you were lucky that it wasn't completely overloaded and reversed it before it was to late. But it's so hard to tell what your hair needs and how much is enough sometimes. Ugh. great video

Different types from the back to the front and some with different porosity, but im mostly high porosity all around...some hairs super moisture overload (lacking protein) while others look great. Luckily more look great than not, but finding the balance is a weekly project. I like the idea of having a styler with protien and am hearing that more. I used the shea moisture styler you recommended in the past, but I may have not done it right bc I didnt seem to like and used it for my son instead which it worked well for. I will need to revisit. I just want to chime in with the protein overload- make sure you do a clarifying shampoo to remove the build up of keratin/protein before starting the moisturizing treatments. It is more recommended to go to a salon for a clarifying treatment but if not kinky curly makes a gentle CG friendly clarifying shampoo. Curlsmith also has a clarifying line if you want more high end products. I've also read you can do an apple cider vinegar mix, but my concern is it is too acidic and will mess with scalp ph/dry your hair out completely

Coconut or any coconut derivative seems to be a huge problem for me. Worse is that virtually every product has it listed in the top 4 ingredients and many hair products have it listed as 2, 3, and 4. I don’t understand this coconut craze. It’s not the best for skin either but it’s in everything.

@Ammaarah Gardee I just cut nearly 4” off myself. I used Joico “moisture recovery” shampoo and conditioner 3 times, I am so mad at myself that I did it again and fell for the title and not the ingredients and the same happened to me. My curls also turned to a very dry, very dull 2 looking pattern. I was happy with Shea moisture low porosity line and they discontinued it 😢. I think I've got moisture overload. I used to really not take care of my hair at all, I never even conditioned, but a few months ago I switched to the CGM. With every wash I was getting better and better results, but then in the past month it's gone way down. My hair goes limp so quickly after I unplop, my roots are flat, and my curls are like non-existent. I tried a clarifying wash today and my hair does feel a lot better, but its still so flat and stretchy. I'm gonna get this product you recommended! I dont want to mess with my usual routine yet as it's been going really well for around 5 months, but I think doing a clarifying wash and a protein treatment like once a month should help keep me on top of it all!

For people who cannot get this masks bc it's not shipped to there country, it's expensive for them or they just want something 100% natural: Avocado, egg, honey and olive oil Bouncy juicy soft curls
@flaviopons1424 жыл бұрын
It will hardly work. Proteins in products are hydrolized, meaning they have been broken down so that they can penetrate the cuticle, or sometimes are directly just aminoacids, even smaller. Neither simple egg or avocado will provide proteins that are small enough to do this.

I am not expert in chimistry. But I have tried it as a mask. My curls weren't defined and my hair was frizzy. I can say that my hair have never looked that perfect before. Even my colleagues (boys) noticed and were asking what did you do to your hair. I still have some parts of my hair that are straight because maybe they are damaged, but it definitely helped my curls. My mom was using egg for her hair and it was always shiny and healthy. Products may be better for all the reasons you told and I agree with you.

i think for you its best to see if you have a greasy or dry scalp. its simple for dry scalp you need more moisturizing products and for a more oily scalp you need more deep cleaning products, but it shouldn’t stop you from using moisture and protein. if you don’t use moisture and you only constantly use a clarifying wash your scalp is gonna produce oil so it can hydrate itself. i hope to have informed you a bit! :)

This was the most helpful video out here!! I love how you explained it. I tried to stretch my hair and it just snapped off lmao

I think my hair is what yours used to be (moisture overload?) my hair is weighed down and gets so messy easily and has not much volume. And it gets frizzy and it’s soft.

Super helpful, I didn’t know why my hair is crap (I figured that my hair just wasn’t very curly anymore?) it stretches to infinity and just lays limp. Time to add some protein!

This is so helpful! I believe I might have a moisture overload so I’m investing in a protein mask treatment

Mine is so crazy. Like it stretches to infinity but it doesn’t fall off but it doesn’t come back either. (Only if I pull two singular strands will it break.) But I know I need some protein in my hair 😭. I’ve only been using moisturizing products because my hair looks dull. It’s definitely time for protein treatments.

Ugh I always have like three curls in the back that are like 3a when the rest of my hair 3c so you can imagine how crazy it looks. I usually use Bobby pins to make it look shorter but it’s so annoying

😂 same!! I've tried to finger coil it but it still ends up stretching and being longer than the rest of my curls

Great informative video, but a little confused with how to move forward with my hair. Because during the stretch test it snaps as if it needs moisture. But my whole head of hair fits the description as if it has a moisture overload already, so what do! D:

How do you know when I product has more protein or moisturizer? What are common ingredients to look for?

I used to have really really curly hair when I was a kid. Since I’ve been a teen, it slowly started to get less and less curly. Now I’m 23 to and it’s wavy on most days and on my best days I have low defined curls / a loose pattern. It’s so frustrating. I also have short hair so i feel like using the de man brush correctly is hard. I also use a curly hair cream after shower and a hair gel. I basically scrunch my hair with each products after washing my hair. Sometimes I diffuse but it doesn’t change much thing apart from volume. And I’ve never suffered from heat damage on my hair. It’s just really sad and depressing idk what to do🥺

i’ve gone through a ton of hair changes in my 14 years and personally i think your hair type is changing which is totally normal. there’s a possibility of your curls coming back so for now keep using sulfate and silicon free shampoos and conditioners and keep taking care of it as you usually do

I have dry and damaged (broken) hair at the top of my hair The front hair near the hairline I can never put my hair in a ponytail without dividing the front part in two If I push everything to the back then there is a lot of dry damaged hair sticking out like antennas
