Plot the magnetic field lines of a bar magnet using a plotting compass. Magnetic field lines do not ever cross, they are continuous, and they go from North to South. The closer these lines are, the stronger the magnetic field it represents.

Are the magnetic field “lines” real ? Or imaginary like equatorial line
@corrosiongod
@corrosiongod Жыл бұрын
Now do this with a magnet the diameter of the sun. Then spin it at 99.9999% the speed of light. Then give it the mass of say 90,000,000 suns. Then add some matter falling towards it. Poof you just modeled a quasar. The flux lines spiral but never cross funneling matter from the poles at near the speed of light.

Very good but can we derive an equation that determine the shape of magnetic field?

If you look up the magnetic flux equation, you'll find that it's related to magnetic field strength.

Good morning Miss.... Miss, what if I put my compass 🧭 near South pole the magnet and then try to find direction. What will happen in this case ????
@vt.physics
@vt.physics 3 жыл бұрын
The compass needle will point into the south pole of the magnet. Just imagine the compass needle to be a tiny magnet... the north pole of the needle will be attracted to the south pole of the magnet.

Please say if the lines are closed loop or not closed I mean if they form like an ⭕ in ovel shape or.... They doesn't meet!??? Please say this is the only doubt in this chapter🥺❣
@vt.physics
@vt.physics 3 жыл бұрын
The field lines do not travel through the magnet so they are not closed loops. If you were looking at the magnetic fields of a solenoid, then it would be a closed loop as the field travels through the inside of the solenoid.

Actually I have a question, the direction you pointed in isnt it wrong? I mean like magnetic field starts from the north and goes towards the south but you did it thr other way
@vt.physics
@vt.physics 3 жыл бұрын
If you think of the compass needle as a tiny magnet, then you will understand that the north of the needle will be attracted to the south pole of the bar magnet.
