It's fun for kids....when I was a kid we used to have races on the horses to get through their gauntlet!! My dog loves to chase them - we call it 'plover bowling' hahahhaa They're shitful birds - rats with wings.

That's awesome! Like a bird dog fight but no planes. Spur winged plovers have big spurs on their wing "elbows" and use them to gore other birds. They have heaps of attitude.!!

Exactly! I live there! Ive befriended two plovers at my school, I was at soccer training yesterday afternoon, I tried to get a soccer ball from the nest, it was so close to it, I picked it up, being calm, but then out of nowhere! The male started screaming I started to back away, then it started chasing me! I was scared I yelled out "AHHH!!! AH FUUUCK!!" I then yelled at the perusing plover "TAKE ONE OF THESE!!!" And gave the plover the middle finger! That's the closest I've ever got to one, and it was terrifying, I'm never doing that, ever again.
