Really depends on the current in the water, Piers notoriously have a "rip current" when the waters are stormy. Its especially dangerous in there when the Seiche ( a surge in water level or direction) happens in the canal. I would advise against it.

Last I knew they were on the schedule for Ore next week, if it did fail, they would just do the necessary repairs (in my opinion). Just may be delayed a bit longer.
