They have a mod out where you can run the whole restaurant. James Turner used it in one of his lets play. Its a great mod. I use it and it makes dine out a 100 times more fun. Modders coming in doing the work the sims 4 should of included to began with.

I played it when I got it a few years ago, not on release I don't think. The little droid friend you get it adorable and I had fun hacking to get into the one area to steal the cargo, I got stuck at the point where it wanted me to persuade people, I don't like doing that for politics, so I've put off going back, but I have just caught up on a lot of star wars shows so I could watch Ahsoka and understand it, and it's got a lot of Bad Batch references in it, the mix you can get that looks like cereal is what Omega and Wrecker always eat after a mission so I plan on going back to finish it, after I play with apartments of course lol! 😊

I believe the feeder is filled from the outside and a rat could very easily get out of it. Feeders like that could work for larger animals like rabbits or guinea pigs but not for small rodents. One of the problems solved. E: Also enclosed cages like that are very very bad for rats, probably other small rodents too. The nead the air circulation that the wire cage provides plus also the ammonia from the urine not beaing able to get out is probably not good either.

yeah, rats are prone to respiratory issues so they need a properly ventilated space and can't be kept in a tank like that. they're also social creatures and can't be kept alone, you need at least two or preferably more. so the sims franchise didn't progress much in terms of animal welfare :/

I'm gonna take this moment to rant about the fact that the small pet enclosures in My First Pet Stuff aren't even appropriate! Like, rats and hamsters and hedgehogs have different care and enclosure requirements, they aren't interchangeable! we need a mod to give them accurate unique looking cages + proper amount of animals in one specific cage and the proper toys and enrichment for the respective animal instead of just the very most stereotypical ones. when my poor little guys have small cages with barely any toys I feel so sad for them. even though they're all just pixels I can't help but feel bad that they have such a small cage and no toys that they actually like. especially with the rats. I love rats. they could easily take the toy doggy playpen from Sims 2, update it a bit, and just make it so you can move your pet between the playpen and the cage instead of having them be stuck in one, same interactions nothing special, and fix the problems. mostly that being that there's no playpens for the ratties! or the ham-hams! and you can't let your piggie cuddle with you on the couch, even if you have no other pets! even if your sim could let their piggie out of the cage and roam in a safe ENCLOSED area, or even just sit next to your sim and watch TV if they were irl, you can't do that! it feels weird that Sims 3 small pets were better than Sims 4 considering how the rodents don't have any special interactions depending on the species they're all using the same code just a different model, but good lord... at least your sim could theoretically let them play outside of the cage. that and some of the cages BESIDES the rodents seemed to be set up properly. with all the reptile cages having heat lamps and made to mimic the natural environment of the pet. though I don't own any reptiles, I had one tortoise as a kid so I can only say that based on how his cage was set up. side note but it'd be so cute if they let your sim make a tortoise playpen during summer days / during the day. my mom used to set one up for Tortie during hot summer days in the front yard to let him play in the grass (and nibble on dandelions)

The reason I like sims 2 more than 4 is exactly those reasons you gave! I like to get to play with each family I create on my terms so being able to have the unplayed households not age or progress in any way whilst I'm busy on the others is perfect! As is going to a different lot & coming back at the time you left. I always find the games progress too quickly for my liking so having that bit of extra time is fantastic. One thing I dislike with Sims 4 is how you can't micromanage at all. I created a road of rainbow houses doing single colour challenges and placed the families which I also did as single colour to match. I placed them in the homes so I could playtest stuff place with move objects and to my dismay, the other families were progressing even with autonomy off for all sims & aging off etc. I returned to one of the other families after a brief couple of hours sims time testing per household to find the child was facing being taken away and the pet dog had run away. But I hadn't even played with that family, just placed them in ready. I was so used to how other households were paused in Sims 2 I just assumed the same would be true of Sims 4. Which is why I now pretty much exclusively build in Sims4 & don't actually play because it won't let me fill all the households with my own created sims and control them all bit by bit. Sims 4 sims will go do stuff of their own accord even with autonomy off and I hate it!

NGL, I'm amazed Island Living wasn't the worst expansion. It's such a non-pack that added absolutely nothing of any substance beyond a pretty world. Edit: Mermaids are an absolute joke, the worst occult by far. It's sad when packs that cost less than half that of an expansion can offer properly fleshed out occults. I could almost understand it if something else had been the focus instead, but what does Island Living actually do? It didn't even get the eco-living thing right which was the ONLY other thing it had to the point where EA went and made a whole other pack dedicated to Eco gameplay.

I've played a lot of dine out recently while doing Tiana on DPC, and it was much better than I remembered. Since then, I've started putting restaurants in most neighbourhoods and am actually using them. That menswear pack is so bad tho. Pets I always forgot about and now force almost every family to have a cat or dog, but haven't used the rest of the pack in years. HSY I use a lot, I've even lived at the school on two diff runaway teens series, but never the default school, it's awful.

Tbh I feel like the most effective 'refresh' for My First Pet Stuff would just be to smash it in half and turn it into separate kits. One kit that's the pet clothes and pet furniture (so the cat trees and pet bowls. Anything that has a proper 'function' if you own cats and dogs), and another that's the sim clothes, sim furniture, and rodents. But I feel like the company may pull a complete moron and separate into MORE than 2 kits, in which case the entire thing would be more than $10 and the community would go feral with rage.

That said, I think people were hyped and/or had high expectations and it didn't hit those. For Dine Out, we have Carl's Dine Out Reloaded mod which makes restaurants run smoothly, actually take active part in the restaurant by playing as the chef, waiter and host with your family, and you have a lot of customization options i.e. only have a chef and make sims seat, place orders, and pick up their meals themselves, also options for takeaway orders. Carl also fixed My Wedding Stories prior to the official Maxis patch, so it's now obsolete, but I just wanted to thank him again for his hard work. For up-to-date stuff, we have Custom Nuptials by a.deep.indigo that adds some great stuff for MWS, but also some for BG weddings, which is pretty cool! Rex made a Meaningful Wedding Stories mod that gives a perma relationship bit for the couple based on how the wedding went, from preparation, tying the knot, all the way to what happens afterwards! MissyHissy also created tweaks and mods for the GP, worth checking them out. It's quite unfortunate that the community has to be the one fixing whole pack, which is the reason I have long stopped buying the packs and instead rotate between Patreon creators (but only those with reasonable early access periods). At least the modding community is still very strong and active!

The fact that dine out is below strangerville makes ZERO sense to me. Maybe it's because we have less expectations with that one, and the only people that bought it are the target audience so they liked it. Also I think it speaks VOLUMES how the two lowest rated game packs (and maybe even expansion pack) are actually some of the most anticipated ones, that have a HUGE audience, but the reason they're rated so low is exclusively due to buggs. Food for thought, EA.
