Great video , love that he’s willing to show his mistakes, everyone makes them but you know yourself Allan there’s ppl who wouldn’t admit to them , so to admit to them And show us so no one else makes the mistake is good of him.

Nice service Pete!! It definitely needed it! 👍👍 With so many different makes/models of boilers, different ways of servicing and getting them into high/low fire. It's not surprising we miss things. With boilers you know it's fine, but when you come to a boiler you do not know, looking for the manual, downloading it, spending the time to read it seems to be offset by the time factor and the price you can charge. Then do you dare check to see if PRV opens and its not stuck or clean the filter out only to find it now will not seal 🙃😒 Oh the fun 😂😂

Andy if you are not familiar with the boiler and do not think it is worth investing your time reading the manual so that you can do the job competently - then refuse the work.

The service made me giggle. Just had a nightmare week with an Ideal Mexico 4 pipe boiler pumping over, had 4 days on it, power flushed re piped it to an s Plan replaced a couple of blocked rads and finally success, any of you older boys remember these. They were originally piped on the return.

Forgot the air intake bracket! Removing the electrodes from the door. Will no doubt damage the gasket. I leave the electrodes on the door, and clean them in situ. the older gaskets were made of fibreglass. They always fragment. Forget the newton meters ( mechanics feel ) Thanks for sharing👍
@rayc15033 жыл бұрын
Most giannoni heat exchanges will be between 6-9 Newton meters. You need yourself an extension for the Abarcs brush and lastly clean out the condense trap after you've brushed and cleaned the heat exchanger. Fill the condense trap with water to prevent and POCS passing through.

So going through the service as per MI's and then skip the torque wrench they are not expensive and it's done correctly then. Just makes sense to me to set them correctly. Never the less you definitely a good engineer so many will never do a quarter of that.

Just out of curiosity do any of you guys use a torque wrench on boilers? I personally don’t. Many thanks.
