I'm a new hobbyist coming from years of aquaria, you did great with all this!! I've been watching your videos nonstop and I've learned so much, it's inspired some wacky plans for what I want to build. You should try breeding some rams when you get everything up and running, they are fantastic parents and it's incredible to watch them raise fry. They're a South American fish too, so it'd fit a rainforest theme perfectly! Rain also triggers breeding in a lot of species, and you got that covered😁

What an epic setup absolutely incredible work you do. Its amazing to see your mind works to come up with these ideas and make them reality! If I may suggest? If you ever come into the electrical issue again with the 90° you made, just get yourself a 6ft non-metalic liquidtight a/c whip kit feom lowes. you can cut to length keep the rest and just buy the fittings for future projects. Keep up the amazing work!

Dude this is awesome, I think the next simulating rainfall is such a cool idea. 2 things: 1) an iced quad espresso is pretty intense haha 2) Did you find the corrugated plastic held together with the silicone? I have tried that in the past and I found the silicone just peels right off once it's cured. Looking forward to seeing the final product!
@TroyGoldberg3 жыл бұрын
Hahahaha I drink em daily, bit takes several hours to drink.... when I drink regular iced coffee drinks i drink them way too fast and feel like I’m going to die. So the silicone did stick sorta... I was careful with the boxes and after they were foamed around all sides, there really isn’t anywhere for them to go ya know...

Wow - holy awesome! Very inspiring indeed. I recently retired and am in the process of deciding what to do with a portion of my living room - all the way across against a wall [12.5 foot run] so your videos are a big help. I gave up on TV. Amazing work cutting glass and silicone work. I have a lot of learning so please excuse my questions, sorry I suffer from attention surplus disorder, lol. Q: Is the pump used for your rainfall system the same pump that will be doing the waterfalls? Q: Is the rainfall pump located in the sump? Q: Does the rainfall water enter the 1/4" network from outside the tank on the top thru the various bulkheads? Q: Did you silicone those rainfall suction cups? Thanks! Can't wait for part 3.
@TroyGoldberg3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! So... rainfall pump is in the sump, waterfall pump is in the tank. For 2 reasons, lift, and also to help not burn through the clean water bay in the sump., correct, rain fall pump has a 1/4” bulkhead and line coming right out of the sump and the line splits off into 5 spots up top for the rain bar( 3 bulk heads, 2 spots I just drillled holes for the line in the ends.
@TroyGoldberg3 жыл бұрын
I did not silicone the suction cups.... I want the rain system to be easily removed, and swapped out for regular nozzles if desired.

Hey man, nice sump! But your k1 media is supposed to be continuosly moving. If it's stagnant like it currently is it won't do much for filtration. Here is a good example of a well functioning mbbr (moving bed biofilm reactor): kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ_GaaSniqeibrs. edit: you could try moving the airstones to the other side and using only one with a small baffle to redirect the flow, currently with the air pump setup like this the flow your air pump is creating is moving the oposit direction of the waterflow. Or what you could also do is turn the entire sump around and make the current entry chamber the exit chamber, that way it will be much easier to create the desired movement in your mbbr chamber. And it won't deteriorate the function of the sump at all.
@TroyGoldberg3 жыл бұрын
This was when I first set it up… the bacteria hadn’t grown on the media yet so it was making it float… a few weeks of running and now they are all constantly in motion.
