Day in my life as a plumber

In todays video I fix an oil boiler, have a look at a wood burning stove, find a water leak and connect some pipework onto a cylinder. It's a bit of a random one, but hopefully still enjoyable.

love the channel . i have some really old plumbing books i think you may like , 60 years ago when i started as an apprentice wiping joints on lead pipes all sizes was quit common , these books take you back to were a PLUMBER wore a boller hat and a tie . how things have changed. my DAD was a plumber , he used to test the temperature of the molten solder in the ladle with his fingers . men were men then . keep up the good work .

Hi Tom good video's as always, room stat vs frost stat let the battle begin, blame the installer 3 years pass by and final score 1 nil to the installer, what a tool to have in your toolbox a video of the installation

Nice content as per Tom. The level of pride and workmanship on that heat pump was proper👍🏻 Do you ever fit solid flue liners? Is that a thing? Still use wd40 on both my wood burners after watching one of your videos👍🏻

Had a Buderus 6ft off the floor in an alleyway tripping the spur. Took me ages figure out what AC was tripoing it from the boiler. They had a hive put in where the frost stat is on a small pcb box...once cold weather hit, the frost stat kicked in and never stopped...i hate Buderus's!! Cheers Tom!! 🤣🤷‍♀️🤟

I had the same experience with my rems gun first day back after Christmas. I was a bit worried it was faulty. Working away ever since. A bit like myself, doesn't like the cold weather!

Hi Tom, A great selection of jobs in this film thank you. The crack in your van screen is another inconvenience that will need sorting out. If any manufacturers are involved with one of their defective products, it’s usually the installers fault 🤦‍♂️. Have a great weekend Tom. 👍👍👍

Good video mate ….just a quick one is there a way to free up a solenoid needle valve got one that keeps sticking had to change the solenoid but the valve doesn’t lift all the time having to tap it to get it going, the customers boiler was sitting doing nothing for a long time. I guess just easier to replace 😂

Remember oil pressure must be above 100 psi don't miss changing oil filters and oil nozzles I must admit . Great videos as normal hope you well sunshine and Rock on Tommy .

That boiler job Tom , it's been working fine for over 3 years but now it's installer error 😠😠 . Do you do frost stat and pipe stat in series ?

How did you train to be a plumber you have such a varied understanding of all plumbing work would love to know what you studied

I did plumbing level 2 and 3 at college. The truth is you never stop learning. I make mistakes sometimes, but you have to learn the hard way. On occasions I still walk into jobs and think I won't be abke to sort this, but I try not to panic, and just think things through and most of the time I can sort it

Tom, rules , rules,rules. I had my smart meters fitted yesterday and was warned that my gutter down pipe is only 280mm from the flue vent and had to sign to say that I have been made aware.🤷🏻‍♂️ apparently it needs to be 20mm further away. 🤦‍♂️

Thanks for the support as always mate, some boilers do allow the distances to be reduced to 75mm, the meter fitters will just go by the gas regs and not the boiler manufactures instructions so it may well be that your flue is correct anyway
