do you pot/plant the cuttings right away? I was told its best to let them out in the sun for somedays and then plant.. which works best?
@flormorena132 Жыл бұрын
I saw in another video where she said to leave the cutting in the shade and wait 7 days before u reroot.
@powtimothy110 ай бұрын
Yes. You should leave the cuttings aside im a dry place undercover so the wound callouses and dries properly. 5-15 days. Then later plant them in a well drained propagation media in a pot (eg; equal quanties of coarse sand and potting mix, maybe some coir peat in there if you like and some perlite for extra aeration, drainage). And be sure not to over water or leave in too hot sun....

geeze, I propagate mine with 3 ft long cuttings without any problem and I don't remove the leaves or cut the tips.

i've planted about a month ago some cuttings that were quite long, maybe 2 feet long 50+cm, along with some smaller ones from a different tree. the smaller ones are showing signs of growth in the tips already, but the long ones, no such sign. the long ones, while they're longer, they're thin and woody, not fat and succulent like the smaller cuttings(different trees). do you think the longer thinner stems will grow/root eventually or should they have been cut shorter? is there a reason everyone says 8-10"? i thought a longer cutting would maybe have a better chance to grow/root.

Hi, I grew my tree from an 8 in cut piece from Hawaii 9 years ago. It bloomed the second year I had it, but not since. My tree grew 7 feet tall now as one trunk many top leaves and no branches. I have it supported with bamboo sticks. How can I cut the tree down smaller, possibly use the top part with root grow to form a second tree next to it for support and make it healthier and stronger?
@danielanderson90226 ай бұрын
Thanks for the info Mark. If I may ask, will the cut branches propagate new growth? I know I can root the cuttings, but I don't want a bare Plumeria the next season. Thanks in advance. P.S. - just subbed.

They grow fast. Keep consistently giving plant food & water soon enough it’ll get flowers but mostly bloom around spring or mid summer

Ok that's great, but how do you treat the cut on the plant, itself. Do you ever paint, wax, or use some other method to protect the cut? Thanks!

I do not mine to get big. It looks beautiful now in Florida. So what happens after I trim. Does it grow back or keep growing up.
@TravelAgentCale5 жыл бұрын
I recommend using a sharp blade/saw instead of these clippers which can damage the cuttings.
@kittyrock30173 жыл бұрын
Have always been told to cut plumeria with a saw so it does not crush the plant stem internally, and to never pull leaves off but to cut them close to the stem so they do not leave large leaf scars...

bought some online and a couple are cut at an angle at the bottom. Is this going to be a problem when potting or do I need to cut them flat and let them dry again?
@yahyaalsafoury9526 Жыл бұрын
For the new cuts better to leave them 3 days before planting So as to make the cut edge dry for better outcome

do not put them in full sun until they have leaves, the shin on the cuttings may burn, keep them in a warm area with indirect sunlight.

Try spraying it with Neem oil. It's an organic oil that kills most insects and fungus.

I've sent seeds to Britan and they are growing, plus there are growers in Australia, your only problem is during the winter they will have to come inside. My brother is growing a plumeria in Denver Colorado.

Thanks for sharing this video with us! Do you recommend to seal the plumeria tree after it is cutted? I'm wondering due to the reason that I had to prune one of my plumeria because of black tip fungus.
@skippymagrue8 жыл бұрын
If your tree is healthy, you shouldn't have to. You only want to cut it when it is actively growing because then it will fight off disease better.
@skippymagrue8 жыл бұрын
Also, sterilize your pruners if you are cutting more than one tree.
@bestgreenpest4 жыл бұрын
After you cut it, let it dry out for 2 days or longer then you can plant it

Anyone know why my big established plumerias won't bloom?
@JSharp6196 жыл бұрын
It may need some nutrition if you go to www.socalplumeriasociety.com/plumeria-care many of your questions will be answered. It may need a good trimming if you remove branches with multiple tips and leave the single tipped branches the growth energy stored by the tree has less tips to focus on and will create inflos.
