I’m 47 years old living in Los Angeles CA and yesterday while waiting for my vehicle to be serviced I was seating at a bench in the side walk, reading one of Thich Nhat Hanh books, an 80 year old man riding his bike stopped and asked me If he could seat next to me, I felt so much Joy, I placed my book aside, and decide to stay present feeling the presence of this man, we laugh, we talked, sometimes silenced, when I received a text message that my vehicle was ready, we said good bye and the old man gave me a cheek kiss and hugged me. Then I walked to the dealer ship. Thich Nhat Hanh Is still around us in the present 🎁

For years Thay has been a grounding presence in my life. A true beacon of love and compassion. I have so many quotes and lines from him, and in times of trouble will recite them. They really do help me act from a place of mindfullness and compassion. Rest easy friend, Ill see you in the blooming of flowers, the playing of children, and the openness of the sky

I and so many millions of people love him so much; he is truly like a Father we never had. Of course; Thay decided as a young monk to not marry and have children; taking the vows of a monastic; but I imagine too what would be the weight of having such an extraordinary parent, and how difficult it would be to feel that I was living up to his expectations. I imagine that he would always be disappointed in me, and I would feel I was failing him. I wonder sometimes if his monastics at Plum Village ever had that emotional dimension open up in their life in his footsteps. I wonder if they ever felt that they were letting him down, if they struggled with mindfulness after receiving the precepts; I wonder if they ever didn’t feel they measured up when compared with his leadership. I know that’s how I would feel; as deeply as I feel connected to his teachings and his memory. 🙏🏻❤️. Much love to you all as we continue to try to evolve into the people he wanted to see in the world, and apply his teachings to our lives ❤️🙏🏻

you can’t arrive home if you never left. going in and out of the awareness of All is part of the interplay of All. We are All part of the same Being. We are all being continuously now. Home is not a place. Home is a space of being. we call This space God. God is just a word. Words can never live up to the experience. Just live. Life is miraculous. Om Namah Shivaya 🙏🏼

You leave home so many times. Worries, anxiety, pressures, challenges, anger, bitterness etc always stray us from "home" unwillingly or unknowingly. This is why we must be mindful, we must always return home to peace, solidity, and stability in the here and now. Living life with our full presence and awareness. Hari Om!

Sitting here, atop the valley of a mountain. The tent becomes a cave. Poor is this humble person indeed. Wearing every cloth to stay warm. Being quiet, observing the noise down below and above. No thing is at peace. The good people don't slow down long enough to notice. Living their whole lives, as participants, in the midst of a war zone.
