I'm not NEARLY as big as these women, and riding certain rides was a big concern for me the last time I went to Cedar Point as I had just gained an... alarming amount of weight due to a medication reaction. While I was working to take it off, it hasn't been easy to say the least, and I was about 250lbs (5'7") when I went to the park. The ONLY ride I wasn't able to ride was Millennium Force, which is notorious for its small lap belts anyway. Even some straight sized people with larger hips and thighs have difficulty with that specific ride. Gatekeeper was a tight fit, but I was eventually able to ride with the Red Belt ("fat people" seats) by end of day after losing some water weight walking around all day and sweating profusely. Very pleased to say that thanks to some medication help (both of the weight loss variety, and switching the medication that made me gain so much weight to a variation with a lower percentage of weight gain), I'm now down 30lbs. I'm hoping to be down to my goal weight in the next 6mos - or at the very least under 200lbs - before returning to Cedar Point because I now have the opportunity to take the funniest before and after weight loss photos ever

I remember going to a local theme park several years ago with some friends one Summer, and we were in line for this wooden rollercoaster that had you squished in like a can of sardines (I'm 150lbs soaking wet and still felt squished) with the amount of padding the carts had. Anyway, when our train came into the loading area, the riders before us were disembarking and there was this lady that got out of the seat I was going to sit in, and I just watched as it took her a minute to get out, and when she finally got out of the seat, her body just filled out after being squished by the padding. I then looked at the seat she was sitting in and it was soaking with sweat. A ride attendant and I locked eyes and both knew before he got a towel and wiped down the seat. He and I didn't shame the woman; we waited patiently and were courteous (the attendant even helped her out of the train cart), but we gave each other a look and just had the same thought.

I am a size 3xl. I am working on myself, but I have medications and certain conditions that made me gain/keep the weight. What I hate, are people who are rude and assuming of others because of their weight, but what I also hate is the fat acceptance movement. I accept that I am fat, but I understand that i should not be, and I need to better myself though it is hard. I do it for my health, and for my own good, not what others think of me. i do not go t these places, because I know my size is too big for them, and the things there. What I also understand is why they can’t/won’t/shouldn’t cater to me, because of my size. There are capacity limits and weight limits for a reason, and that is what people should understand. I know that it may suck, or be hard to not be able to enjoy certain parts and luxuries of life, but these people need to ACCEPT that they are fat, and either they need to live with the hardships, or they need to get healthy, and lose weight. I don’t complain about not being able to do certain things, due to my weight and my conditions and overall ability to do things, I just accept that it sucks. My favorite thing to do, when I can afford it, is to go to music festivals, and concerts, standing on my feet for two-eight hours or more straight. Is it hard on my feet? Of course it is. But I don’t complain because I am enjoying myself, and I am happy I am able to experience it. These people can work hard, and change themselves, they just need to become less entitled, rude, obnoxious, and annoying. They can choose to be kind, but they are too insecure to be. I am happy that I understand myself, my weight, and how I cannot strive without struggle. I’m not insecure with how I look, nor do I hate myself. I feel like these people hate themselves so much, that it ricochets onto others. Be kind, send peace and love out to others, and be accepting and understanding of yourself. That is all. ❤

@pilzkuh1387Ай бұрын
The belief that being fat is entirely within an individual’s control is a harmful myth. Body weight is influenced by a variety of factors beyond personal choices, including genetics, metabolism, and psychological health. Research shows that genetics can affect how our bodies store fat and regulate hunger, making some people more susceptible to gaining weight. Additionally, mental health issues like depression and anxiety can lead to emotional eating, complicating weight management. Environmental factors, such as access to healthy foods and safe spaces for exercise, also play a significant role. It’s essential to understand that many people face challenges that are often beyond their control, and reducing complex health issues to simple personal choices only perpetuates stigma and misunderstanding. Compassion and support are crucial for fostering a healthier dialogue around body weight and health.
@BarbarianBardАй бұрын
@pilzkuh1387 mental health absolutely can lead to weight gain however if someone knows that they have medical conditions that make them gain weight faster than that's all the more reason to manage it. Also you don't need healthy food to lose or manage weight because the amount you eat matters more, you can still lose weight eating junk food if you eat less then then the calories you burn. It's as simple as calories in vs calories out, I have depression and chronic pain and because I know that I'm prone to gaining weight I manage it closely, not only that but I'm also poor and eat more calorie dense junk food. My experience isn't going to be everyone else's experience obviously but if you know that you have conditions that make losing or maintaining weight difficult then why wouldn't you put steps into place to manage that?

Seeing as it’s decently easy to loose weight (from personal experience going from 265 to 180 lbs) it’s so sad but also disappointing to see these videos because TWO THINGS: at night or when your alone are you reaching your full potential you know your not so you have to show other people “how bad other people make their life’s” when they are the reason they are where they are at Stop eating so much food and do some cardio. Guess what you’ll actually live life to the fullest doing that because you will live 10-20 years more.

I'm actually working on losing weight over this next winter cause I don't want to go again in the future and look like this. I had a major surgery this last year which helped cure a lot of my problems so I can exercise again. But these ladies apparently appear to be this way so they can gripe about things not working for them and without doing anything about it on their end first. Crazy.
