I visited only once many years ago. I got so much from that visit. I was blessed that day for sure 🙏 I now can share with my best friend . We often hear on Pray as you go, the monks from Pluscardin singing. Beautiful.

Thank you Sophie. A lovely video. I first visited in 1972 and fell under the Dom Maurus spell. We corresponded until his memory started to fail. He was a huge inspiration to me. The nearest person to a saint that I've met.

I have very wonderful memories of staying for 2 weeks in the early 80's and then again for two further visits in the 90's for a week each respectively it was contemplative,relaxing unique and surpassing anything ever experienced or enjoyed before or since.

Wonderfully made Documentary, on the lives of the Monks, at Pluscarden! Great testimony from the Monks, and nicely narrated! Very moving experience in the Monks daily lives!

Why do some Benedictines wear white habits and others wear black habits? I thought Benedictine monks just wore black. In some other orders, novices wear white, but in Pluscarden Abbey’s case, does this depend on what a brother does, e.g. their work or their status in the abbey?

Each monastery has their own customs. For simplicity sake they may choose a fabric with no dye.
