"FGO Hot Takes" : Taira is an INSANE solo servant

I apologize, i forgot to consider spoiler fights and this video includes 2 fights from LB7. The first fight and the last. I also apologize, when i said good refund its moreso considering the passive np gain from getting hit as well and I worded it poorly. Ok i just woke up to a lot of questions that i might not have been clear enough in the video so I will list them here instead of clarifying 1 by 1 in comments : 1. The title is something I’ve always wanted to prove because I think there is an argument for it rather than it being a definitive fact. The series is called hot takes after all. But I will back down on the title as it seems to cause some controversy and confusion. 2. My final verdict is actually to not roll for gameplay because you can borrow her and solos are not really meta. 3. One weakness I forgot to mention is her lack of np steroids in a team because s2 is rendered useless. This makes her NP damage not the best in a team. 4. Command codes are really situational so I would usually drastically alter them depending on the fight I’m going into instead of having default ones on. The heal boost tamamo CC + jeanne heal is never a bad combo to bring tho. 5. My favorite CE with her is honey lake with burn CC equipped or her bond CE. However most offensive CEs work as well as guts CEs. Anyways hope you enjoyed the video and I apologize that some of these pointers weren’t made clear enough in the videos as I see a lot of questions regarding them in the comments.

For heavy solo servants like this, I almost feel like an additional section talking about powerful Command Code setups would also be super helpful, given how dramatic of an impact some of the stronger Codes can have on a solo servant's gameplay.

command codes minus the obivously strong ones like the tamamo heal boost + jeanne heal, are all very stage dependent. sometimes you need a lot of debuff removals, sometimes you need a lot of buff removals, sometimes you need burn bc you are using honey lake. I did try before but i find it very hard to make a general guide for CCs

@@trendthis364 plushie already answered the question, some servents are easy to know what they lack in combat or what they need the most for their role and kit so you can give them CC that helps with that (for exp give crit stars CCs to your favorite servents that can't produce much stars, or if their kit is very based on crits... Ect) Taira is no different, her most known role is soloing, so giving her solo-helpful CCs like tamamo (boost healing) + Jeanne (heals) + mash (boost def) are the general most obvious pick for any solo servent, but the choice of CC for soloer actually more gimmick-of-the-fight-dependant than anything, just like the exp plushie mentioned, just to further guarantee their survival. So it's hard to give her something that she truly needs (outside the easy 3 picks I mentioned, even if you give her dmg helping one you won't find them helpful in certain fights.

@@keopsps3474 The event free quests are ok, but not efficient when it comes to AP, those that give 900BP or more, cost 40 AP, so i think the best spot for what I've been doing is Heian-Kyo in onis playground, it cost 21 AP and gives you like 800BP and it's relatively easy to farm. You can always look for more info on game press since i think there are better spots to waste more efficiently your AP.

It's a little funny since I saved up about 660 summons worth of SQ + tickets for Taira no Kagekiyo but was so extremely lucky to have spent so little. Next stop is Koyanskaya & Barghest.

In my opinion the problem with cu is his damage and crits, if he can't accelerate against tanky bosses (because of lack of dmg) his survival may be at risk, so unless you have fully invested a cu (lvl120, all cards fou pawned and such) there are still way more certain fights that he can't solo

@@btchiaintkidding7837 that doesn't solve the problem, bonus np DMG isn't the only thing he lacks, not even his actual problem...his problem is year 1 and low star gain stats...can't easily generate stars nor np, face cards DMG is low...so you need to invest extremely hard to widen his solo options....

While I would say that Kagekiyo is really good, I think that she''s not an unequivocal best. If the enemy isn't debuff/charm immune for instance, Kama can be a much easier solo and take a lot of pressure off, even though she would be unable to out-survive something that is immune to charm. Similarly, QSH can be more effective against non-extra class bosses because of class, while also totally falling over the second invul pierce is in play. While Kagekiyo is really strong, I think that in the nature of solo runs you just can't have one best solo servant because boss/CQ/EQ gimmicks are so wildly different. While the video makes many good points, I think that its impossible to label any one servant as "the best" at solos. She probably is the best grail front pick though.

Ngl I mainly just wanted her to have the Ushi trio and complete the set. I knew she was a great soloest from her NP and skills alone. But I was so happy to actually get her. I really value NPs like her's that remove buffs then do dmg. Since they are basically unblockable (outside of buff removal resist). As you are someone who's used Taira a ton it was nice to hear your thoughts on her.

I am very biased as a King Hassan lover (NP5, lvl 120, max append, etc), but I do agree that Taira probably has the most consistent results when it comes to soloing, on par with units like Super Orion and Qin Shi Huang. Love a good solo unit~

Good take, Plushie. And i do agree that since you constantly use and prove that Taira is a very good solo unit through your video, your take is pretty solid. And yeah, while Herc is still good, Taira is just more consistent since she is a quick unit and her passive. While some may say your Taira is a super Taira with NP5 and grails and its unfair comparison to those with NP1, Players without super taira can still achieve a good solo potential provided that they know what they're doing tbh. (Lets hope this does not lead to another herc buff tho lol)

Failed to get her in NA. Wanted to push further but lb6 stopped me. I am not a solo-er but she came handy in a lot of battles in jp server because I always put her at the back side of my team and when my main servants die, she is there to solo the remaining battle.

Another reason why Gong isn't as viable for Taira as he is for Hijikata, he gives Hiji 50% Buster up and crit damage alongside the powermod on NP. Taira doesn't benefit from that. I also do think her anemic NP damage really holds her back in teams.

Ushi/Saori Hayami are favs of mine so I had to summon regardless of being able to borrow a highly-invested friend support. Currently building her for double Skadi rather than as a soloist but I do want and intend to max her S2 at some point, it's just bound to take a very long time considering lore hell and having to save said mat for the upcoming LB6 servants. I also have other great solo options-QSH being one of them-and recently picked up Cu Alter as well, so I think I can take my time with her. Either way I'm eager to give her a go in the upcoming grailfront

Hard to say shes the best cuz solo runs varies so much, and each solo unit bring a different value. Taira would be best vs a buff heavy fight, but in debuffs heavy fights then i feel like super orion, KH and QHS would be much easier to clear with. Its nice that most solo servant is in a different class so they can shine in different fights (with QHS in the lead most of the time cuz ruler class)

the thing about solo servants like taira is that you never really need to summon for them since theres always gonna be that one person in your support list who has a 120 max np max fou version of that servant so you'll never really need to summon for them yourselves

I was conflicted on whether I wanted to roll for Taira or not. In the end I decided to go for it because I'm a massive Ushi fanboy and I managed to get her with just 210 quartz! For added context I had around 850 when I started rolling, so that means I get to save the remaining 640 for lostbelt 6. It'll also give me time to recover the amount I've spent due to lb6 being quite a few months away. I'm fine with NP1 for now but I will be trying for NP2 in future GSSRs! =)

Personally still think that quin shin huang is the best solo servant. He might not be the fastest and most powerful but he can pretty much survive anything. But Taira is really fun and is probably might even be better with her insane np damage output. Solo servants are my favorit kind of servants bec hey are mostly fun to play and feel really satisfying when u beat a hard challenge with them. I would put her up there with Super Orion and Van gogh in terms of mindless fun. I hope the will keep releasing fun solo units like her and kirei in the future. And i also hope that i will have more luck with her next banner lmao

I can't believe I'd get addicted to solo fights, she's an Avenger so it's mostly neutral damage but with the grudge stacks.. I can't even bother using Herc in most fights given that he's a berserker. She's too good and it's unfortunate because I doubt she'll ever get upgrades aside from the mighty chains.

I really want her. She is the reason why I kept playing FGO, but 2023 is the worst year for me. Seeing the lame ass new year's fireworks I could tell this year will be the worst for me. The game started crashing thus making it hard for me to grind. I didnt get Muramasa and Space Ishtar. I tried fixing the crashing problem by downloading the game again but it became worse, the transfer code thing didnt work. I tried to recover my account, now I will have to wait 3-5 days to get my account back. I have less time to do the event and grind saint quartz. I cant even buy saint quartz because it costs around 60 pesos and its expensive, I do earn 50 pesos a day but its for school. I hope that I will summon her in the future. It is such a pain to have badluck, I even have more problems than this.

Took me about 70 rolls to get her. I wanted her initially, because I like Ushiwakamaru's design. When I roll like this, I normally just stop when I get a bad roll. With every roll I was getting constant SRs 3 of them were dupes but also 3 of them were new servants some of which I wanted like Atalante Alter and Frankenstein. The best part of it all, I got Taira on the last 10th single pull I was willing to do(kind of needed to put an end, because I needed to save some pulls for the coming up banners). The kicker being, on the 9th ticket pull I got Ushiwakamaru and Taira came on the extra ticket. I'll probably be using her like I do Melt with double Skadi. I'm not big brain enough to time the skills for solo clears. Seems like she is a more upgraded version of Melt. So I'll probably use her when Melt doesn't have type advantage because I think Melt is on np3. Not sure how important np levels are for Taira but she sounds like she would be good enough on np1 for teams.

I'll most likely be that Taira simp who has her fully built. I was super lucky and managed to np5 her with around 400 saint quartz and 31 tickets. She was my main target this year, and I'm planning on bringing her to 100. However I'm like 80% towards leaning on bringing her to 120 as well. My Regend is at 118, so after this event he will be finished....so I can work on Taira next.

Got her NP2, but ran out of stakes and QP before I could finish her. Hopefully should be able to finish her up by the time Valentines is over, since I need Heart Lanterns for her append skill, too.
