For another added info on the Number 1 pick, she can solo some of the tougher bosses with the right CC's and CE's, such as the first two Super Recollection bosses in the current Olympus Recollection (Koyanskaya and Aphrodite) that is up on both JP and NA as of me writing this. It takes a long time but it works! I'm going to pick Taigong for my chosen SSR though. Already decided on that before you posted this.

With the new append you can use double tamamo to get her skills all back (both of em) on turn 3 for an additional 60% NP and 100% arts. Sure it requires starting NP CEs so you cant use bond/QP or event CEs, but if you want pure dmg its pretty nice. Especially if your arts looper has some good 5 turn abilities. Tamamo, Looper, Castoria, with a support Tamamo to swap in for castoria seems like a nice set up. While I still want her to get a buff (because she's best girl of course) I do understand about her snowballing as you mentioned. But still it would be nice to see her 2nd skill get some party utility, obviously def for everyone, but maybe attack and NP (and maybe gain) as well at 30%, giving herself another 30% of that for farming purposes. Or if they want to get creative and go the boss route it can give a +healing received buff and debuff resist alongside the def buff.

Tbh, just pick whoever you like. After almost 2200 days of playing FGO Global (I skipped some days. Started before the Nobunaga first event) you are just fated to end up with a teams that can wreck through anything. For a new players I would pick up Vlad or Cu Alter, because those two can just get you through whole pre Lostbelt stuff. If you already have any of the good DD while still being new, Waver or Tamamo. And if you are not the new player, then you probably have already either Koyanskaya of Light, Oberon, summer Skadi or Castoria so just pick up whoever you want.

Partially disagree with that. Although you should be picking whoever you want, you can't really deny that some are just objectively better choices. Personally, I'd recommend against Vlad and Cu Alter if your only reason is that they can steamroll through Lostbelt content. If you're pre-LB, you're still probably struggling material-wise so you're better off raising supports. That and the cost to a 5* is pretty steep early on, especially when they need the bronze materials. I'd rather recommend supports over carries because supports scale better in the long run and you can always borrow a DPS. It's possible to argue that you can borrow a support as well, I think it's much easier to rely on your own supports because NP levels will be a large factor for carries that you will usually not have access to. That and supports are just more generally useful compared to a carry in 90% of cases

@@xenvj remember that pre LB story is now stamina free. And that's a loooong piece of cake to eat. Also, even LB stories are on the stamina discount, because of the upcoming LB7. While pre LB story doesn't cost anything, it still provide XP, and when you finally finish the 1.0, and then 1.5, you gonna have thousands of stamina from level ups alone. Let's say you started playing literally today. There's christmas lotto upcoming in ~1.5 months. For the Pre-camelot stuff you can just borrow whatever character you want or like from randoms. For the past Camelot, just borrow 120 Arjuna and you will be good. Considering that you won't skip the story, it's gonna take you few months to get to the Lost Belts. If I would be a new player with my current knowledge, I would take Cu or Vlad, then pull for Oberon, Castoria and/or Merlin/Koyanskaya and be safe for year+. Unless you are addicted to Fate universe, going through whole 1.0, then 1.5, then the lost belts, with the event in between, gonna take whole MONTHS of gameplay.

@@Drejkol The thing is, the issue with getting a DPS is the fact that you're missing a guaranteed support in your account. DPS units are much more easily available in "similar" power levels, whereas more premium supports will be more difficult to come by. Having that early Waver means more flexibility in what you can run and what you can use for any other content. It *can* be boring to just run through story using 1 whole comp, even if it can work for most content. Another issue is burning out because you are already farming for materials, then doing story. Having a bunch of usable (low rarity) supports makes a whole lot of difference. It's honestly fine to take a while. We all have a life, so I think being able to clear without forcing yourself to do it is perfect. I'm a uni student so I really appreciate it when I can take my own time to progress. Of course some other people will want to clear content as much as possible, as quickly as possible, but they'll eventually hit the part where they have nothing else to do. The game is still mostly grinding, so story-specific content isn't a must. Having supports that alleviate farming (they're generally usable in boss fights too) makes content way easier to deal with. RNG is an important factor. You can say that you're going to roll, but it can take a while to guarantee 900 SQ for a unit. Having a guaranteed support is miles better than a guaranteed DPS. I was stuck with Merlin for basically two years. Farming was ridiculous without access to proper supports, especially with RNG into account. A lot of budget units are already DPS-capable so there really isn't that much of a reason to not get a support. Going back to my earlier point of having only Merlin (outside of low rarity supports), I did the game just so much better with a borrowed DPS. The ceiling is much higher when you can borrow a DPS, and subsequently, clearing will be much easier. There will be niche cases where a support servant is not available so you're forced to have your own units, but at that point, you should be mostly fine. I cannot emphasize how much easier clearing content gets when you have access to a DPS at NP2+

For me, these free SSR tickets are always a no-brainer and I just pick whatever story locked servant I want. I whale a lot in this game so the majority of the perma SSR's are already max NP and the devs really never give the story locked servants a chance for rate-up banners. Of course I realize that not everyone is able to throw so much at the game to the point where I'm able to get NP5 SSR's from spooks alone and 100% agree with your picks.

I also think Cu Alter is a great pick, even at NP1. He is such a fun and great unit to solo with. You can make argument about Heracles doing the same job, but I think they are different. While Heracles has longer survival, Cu Alter offers better damage and buff purge on NP. Still, great video, I am very happy about number one - I think Tamamo is very inderrated these days. I love Tamamo Last time I did the math, if they only gave her a 10% NP charging ability she would be ridiculously broken by now. A quick example: 23:39 (if he could have charged Tamamo's NP here, he wouldn't have needed the Arts chain to charge Artoria's NP, the chain could have been: Kiara NP -> Tamamo NP-> Tamamo Arts card. Or Kiara Buster if he needed a little more damage) It would give too much versatility. Combat start. Kiara starts with 20% of NP by the append skill + 20% of Artoria's second skill + now 10% of Tamamo is already at 50% so you can use Kiara's first skill, making the enemy already have his resistance to arts decreased by 30%. Not to mention that you can raise Tamamo and Artoria's NP to 100% with just one kaleido without being Max LB, and with the append skill unlocked at level 1. This is a quick example, there are many combinations that can be unlocked with only 10% more NP, not to mention how broken it would be if it had 20% or more. I still defend that a buff to his second skill to affect the whole team even if it only gave half of the def would not be bad. Or NP charge just for herself, it would remove the problem of being able to use her NP for the first time.

As someone who really enjoys building the kind of teams where you get an engine going and it never stops and the enemy can do nothing to stop you, I really love Tamamo. Tamamo / Castoria sometimes feels impossible to break as a pairing, if you don't have Tamamo already, definitely get her. (Admittedly, I'm a Barghest fan at heart so when I take my Level 120 Barghest out for her exercise its usually with double Merlin or Mash / Merlin, but the same principle applies. It's an engine comp and it feels super fun to play because nothing feels like it can kill you. It honestly surprised me continually that people felt Merlin was super bad lol)

As someone who's been playing for roughly six years now and only has 1 50 np charger (summer Skadi), who i only got durring the GSSR durring anniversary this year, yeah waver was my go to. and not for lack of effort either I've probably spent a solid 50% of all sq ive ever gotten across my time playing on Castoria banners I kinda dislike many players assumptions that you'll just have certain servants because this game has one of the most brutal drop rates out of any gacha and for the longest time had no pity (and honestly the pity is so shit it may as well not exist) so i feel like a lot more long-term dolphins or f2p players really just won't have a lot of servants like Skadi, Castoria, Merlin, Tamamo etc., and hell may not even have Waver. Because as infamous as some spooks like Waver or stheno are, f2p/dolphins pull a order of magnitude less than whales, to the point that I've quite literally never seen a single stheno, waver, Jeanne, Fionn or any of the like

Yeah I was thinking of Jeanne for my selection since I have Tamamo and Jinako has spooked me on JP and NA already. It's either her or Taikobo, which is a close one but most of my servants are arts. I have a few quick units I really like, but they're basically all NP1 like saber Medusa and Hibiki. Tesla is insanely good though and maybe the biggest tiebreaker between him and Ozy is Tesla can't spook, but Ozy can. Though spooks are unreliable since there are so many options now on JP. I try to shoehorn Waver into teams when I can since he isn't bond 15, but he is definitely not great as a support especially after Merlin's buff they both give the same amount of battery to the entire party at 90 apiece with Waver giving 20 to 3 servants + 30 to one and Merlin giving 30x3 to the party now.

It really a hard choice for me Since I have to choose about, Minamoto for Archer DPS, Tamamo for More Art team or Mordred for NP2

I’ve got an odd one out for my pick, Drake. She’s been NP1 too long. I genuinely enjoy using her, and with all that she has in her kit plus upgrades, she actually does pretty decent damage with only Koyan-Light supporting her. At NP1 though she’s definitely hit a little low. But she does happen to hit juuuuuust the right spots to be very strong as an AoE Buster Rider. Already have everyone Plushie listed except Jinako, so I’m eyeing it up like “yo is it finally time for me to pull her up from under the seas and finally make her float on the surface of the water?” Honestly she probably needs NP3 to truly come into her own but hey gotta do something somewhere

I'm not sure why waver have so much explanation, almost everyone have him from beginner free ssr (because there is no option to have multiple 50% chargers as novice), it's enough reason to not include him.

I don't play JP nearly as much as NA but i picked Jeanne, she got my attention after her last buff and Animation Update, in two years on NA i will probably upgrade the NP of my Lartoria (Also hoping that she get buffed sometime in the future x.x).

6:26 I think it's Tunguska's fault, the insane bonus that event gave to other servants made very few focus on Taikoubou to realize his utility. Plus the story was bad and treated him as a background character until he fought Koyan

Edit: welp, at least I know I don't need to roll for Nitocris Alter on the upcoming NA LB7 Banner! In 2 years time, I can get her for free! 😊 I'd follow your advice to pick Tamamo, but... _I already have that busted fox goddess, so..._ 🤷‍♂️🤘😎

I was divided between Tamano and Waver because Waver's battery is more reliable and the defence up + dmg cut is very neet while Tamamo allow Very generate comps, but this vídeo convinced me that Tamamo is a higher priority, not only because party wide cooldown reduction is *very* OP nowdays but also because my Castorina is bound 15 and I need many units just to replace her on daily farming.

Ngl, Artoria, Altera and Tesla are better for AoE, same with Achilles and Taigong Nito is....not that great. She may have a sexy furry at her beck and call, but having a 100% battery will not save her, specially as a generic arts looper, where you dont need a battery most of the time

Right now my top pick for when it comes to NA is Tamamo followed by Taigong: though there are three banners I'm planning to go all out before then, so it depends on who spooks me in the meantime. That being said, I find it funny how, in spite of this ticket also including story-locked Servants, all five top picks are permanent Servants! The story-locked SSR pool leaves a lot to be desired...

That's only "his" recommends. Others will recommend what your roster lacks if you already have a decent-ish support Servant. In short - If you have no support, Waver. If you have a support, depends on what card type they enable. If Arts it's Tamamo 100%, if they have her already pick an Arts-based carry like Sitonai, Dioscuri, Vritra, Odysseus or edgy!Nito (Jeanne is a joke, that's something i wouldn't recommend even as a prank), if Quick it's either Taikobou or Kashin (Quick really doesn't have much for permanent SSR picks), if Buster then Ozymandias, Tesla, Drake or Enkidu. If you already have every card covered then just go for the favorite or one to add to the collection.

if its from NP1 to NP2 then any DPS you need is fine, I wouldn't personally recommend NP2 to NP3+ unless you're really stacking waifu/husbando, the damage gain u get from NP1 to 2 is quite the jump I'd rather you get another one of your NP1 DPS to NP2 instead of an already NP2 DPS to NP3

I honestly haven't used Waver in years. He should either be given out for free to new players or get a buff to make him competitive with modern supports. Almost no reason to use him on aged accounts who have most, if not all, of the meta supports. Maybe if they want to keep him neutral they should double down on his crit buff and make him a good choice for crit teams.

Tbh I am between Taigong, Jinako, Waver and Tamamo. Taigong and Jinako to support Achilles (because sorry Taiging no powermod is surpassing my Achilles) and Tamamo for Hajime....and Waver because he is a dude😅 Also maybe Medb, since most of my units are dudes
