His job is my personal worst nightmare. Having to interview D grade actors who have no personality & are completely indiscernible from each other, who are there to promote a film or program you have never seen or heard of, or will ever watch. And he has to do this 5 days a week. He may get the occasional star who is a household name, but how often are they really engaging & thought provoking & simply entertaining? They are there for a purpose, to promote their product. they're presenting a completely artificial version of themselves, and are simply there to plug their product. So when a man of immense knowledge & education sits as the guest for the evening, it does not surprise me one iota that Stephen salivates at the prospect of interviewing someone of incredible intellect.
