What a phenomenal voice and stage presence she had. She knew how to work the camera. I wish she knew throughout her life how loved she was and would be. She was pure talent, grace, beauty, charm, wit, intelligence, and the voice of 10,000 angels and 1 devil all rolled into one magnificent woman. RIP beautiful soul.... Dusty Springfield/ Mary O'Brien.

They certainly didn't seem to know the greatness they were lucky enough to experience. Dusty was great long before SOAPM, she was great with the Lana Sisters, The Springfields, and from her first solo record as Dusty Springfield.

Simply great. Dusty sang with so much soul and greatness. Sometimes a crowd just is mesmerized to get with it. Me I just loved it. Dusty was awesome.

I'm Coming Home Again....one of the most moving songs ever written. The audience seem quite unappreciative of the lovely live music from Dusty and the musicians.

I always felt that Dusty lost face with all but her most devoted fans when she decamped to America. She naturally wanted to find the creative fulfilment that her rich talent deserved, and felt that she was unlikely to find it here in the U.K., but another reason for her defection was the relentless intrusion into her private life by the tabloid press.

I just realize "A love like yours" is a cover of Martha and the Vandellas b-side to Heat Wave which Dusty also did in Ready Steady Go or her BBC TV show.

Damn more reasons why I want "It begins again", Mercury needs to re-release them again. :)

And the weird thing is that "A love like yours" as great as it is, is probably one of the weaker tracks on the record. Ha! Loved "Checkmate," "That's the Kind of Love I've Got For You" and wasn't "Love me by Name" on that LP also? What fantastic album.

Non capisco perché negli anni '70 crollò il suo successo. A me sembra che fosse ancora fantastica.

Much, much prefer the hair, the look, the performance of I'm coming Home Again. Dusty was simply the best, but you have o feel sympathy for her performing for those British audiences, so flat and uninvolved. I remember attending her Show at the London Palladium after he last cancelled Talk Of The Town show,. I attended with my long. long hair, dressed like a true hippy cheesecloth and feathers. My friend, Malcolm had tried to warn me that I was going to be surprised and how right he was. The audience(to me , at the time) looked like people that you would expect to see at a Max Bygraves revival! Much better years later in '79 at The Drury Lane concerts, the place went wild!

When was this? Is it part of an album?
@jiananlee54823 жыл бұрын
I think this is a combination of her performances at Top of the pop in 1978 and 1979. Both songs are tracks of her albums (it begins again; Living without your love) released in these two years. I hope this helps

Everything can't be "I only want to be with you" Dusty's enormous talent is that she can take any song ang make it sound like a hit. That is a tri ute to a great artist that is very well aware of their craft.
@yell50Ай бұрын
@Mustangred2012 Yes and I still don't like this song its just my opinion. I also love the beatles but there are just a few of their songs that I don't like too this don't substracked from their talent at all. Thank for sharing your thoughts.
