But his vision failed and his adventures cost India dearly

Anyway his strategic vision was blurred if not blind and it will be futile to justify Nehru's China policy.

Nehru was oblivious to Mao's avarice and permanent need for more power. While Chiang, who actually did most of the fighting against the invaders, was defeated by the Communists (who had preserved their army by basically hiding and not fighting the invaders). One man's misjudgement cost India dearly.

Very nice interview. If Nehru asked for assistance from Kennedy during the 1962 war, where did this equation of the US-UK & India change. Was it because of the intel cooperation we had with the US in the 1950s like Nandadevi, etc.

Strategic vision can never be based goodwill or even good judgment of other parties, it no longer can be called strategy then.
