Hi Corey.. I have an e-commerce store. Some videos I watched mention that I should not run PMAX campaigns unless I have had 30 conversions in the last 30 days via other google campaigns like shopping campaigns and search campaigns because google doesn’t have any data to optimize on if I run PMAX campaigns without conversion..I am seriously considering running PMAX campaigns because I haven’t had any sales after spending $500 on shopping campaigns, my conversions tracking is setup correctly.. I sell jewelry gifts that come with a meaningful message card and metal wall art as housewarming gifts..I would appreciate your response, thanks!

Yea, I don't wait until I have 30 conversions before running PMAX campaigns myself. It can take a long time for a PMAX campaign to profitable, I would invest what you can afford to loose until the campaign breaks even. Such as, if you can afford to "loose" $500/month on the campaign until it starts working, keep investing that until you start making a profit. It could easily take 3-6 months easily before your campaign is initially profitable. The profitability of your campaign will keep going up, the longer you keep running it.

@@GuaranteedPPC thanks Corey. One last question - I have 6 products in my shopping campaign (all metal wall art products for housewarming gifts As I own a e-commerce gifts store). Despite setting up maximize clicks, I am not getting any impressions at all since last 7 days. May I know what could be the reason for this? My shopping feed is optimized. I have edited the product titles of all the 6 products directly in GMC and have checked all the products in GMC feed and none have any errors. I even raised my budget to $160 per day for just 6 products because I read online that if there are no impressions in google ads, set the judge extremely high for few days but even that is not generating any results.

@@Om-gg5tk I assume these are the only 6 products in your GMC, yes? What is the CTR your getting on that campaign? If your CTR is too low, it will definitely cause products to not show. If it's not over 1%, then I would try to test new product images, either "lifestyle" images, try rotating the product slightly, or similar.

Hi Corey, I see there is a keyword theme input that is in beta mode on the Pmax campaign set up. If I already have placed in some audience signals, is it recommended to input anything into the keyword themes?

I have a video that's coming out about this soon so check back for it later. In short, yes, those are producing good results already for us, namely when you create micro PMAX campaigns, that have 10 or so items in a group. Reason for this is because the keywords need to be tightly matched to the products your selling in order for the keywords to help the algorithm to find you new customers they couldn't have otherwise. Adding general keywords to a huge campaign with 100's of items won't help the algo do anything and might actually send your results backwards. To test this feature out, I would recommend breaking out 10 or less highly similar items in a new PMAX campaign, and add your new "search themes" after (I would add my competitor's products names to start as that seems to work the best). Other "search themes" working for us include adding a bunch of synonyms that describe those products that wouldn't necessarily be listed anywhere on the product pages or product feed (similar colors hot pink, vs. just pink, etc.) to help you get more action from those items.

Hi, My Pmax Campaigns performance went down horribly. I use feed only method and now sales are down. I am getting more then 400 clicks daily and in return 3,4 conversions.

If your old campaign was doing OK, and you switched to a feed only campaign setup, there will be a considerable learning period before the campaign matches it's past performance again. Any big changes in Google Ads typically decreases conversions, before it starts increasing them again.

Running them at the same time, PMAX will just cannibalize the clicks from the standard shopping if both campaigns have the same products and negative keywords in them. There really isn't a reason to run both campaign types at the same time. Is there a specific reason why you wanted to do this?

​@@GuaranteedPPC I saw in other videos they recommend it to boost cold traffic. They set the CPC twice as high as average so campaign goes to more auctions then p-max. Kinda like a growth hack of some sort, wanted to see if you tested something similer. Thanks for the reply!

@@mikhailvinokurov6276 I still see PMAX cannibalizing most of the clicks in that scenario. I know as I have tried it before for clients. The only time I use standard shopping nowadays is if I need a super quick return, or nothing (presumably as we only have so much starting cash to work with), and will use the regular shopping campaign to button down what searches the shopping ads can actually show up for quicker than would happen with a PMAX campaign naturally That is, If you for instance sold replacement printer toner and already knew you need to show up for specific printer model searches to make a profit (example: hp12 replacement printer toner), then you can use the following technique to only show up for 'model number' searches specifically: ie. 1) Use a supplementary product feed that forces all model number keywords variants in with the product title and description. 2) Add negative keywords to the campaign representing any terms that don't have model number in them. So other than the above scenario, there really isn't a need to use regular shopping today, and even then, a PMAX campaign will still generate more profit than a regular shopping campaigns can/will over the long run. Hope that helps.
