So true! A "greaser" that uses half the runway to get the weight on wheels is definitely not a good landing.

Yeah, I was in a 737 going into St. Maarten (TNCM) once, and it was raining. The pilot planted it on. It was a "firm" landing. You could tell he wanted good solid ground contact to reduce the chances of hydroplaning. To me that was a great landing.

@737NG Driver Another great video! I'm really looking forward to this being released, as up until now I haven't found anything worth flying in MSFS, and I remember loving the PMDG 737 for FSX. Was just wondering if you could maybe show us an approach such as MHTG, as I would be interested to see if this new bird has the same radius-to-fix functionality that the older one did. Also, a video showing how to set up integrated approach navigation would be awesome, as I haven't tried that in years.
@A330Driver2 жыл бұрын
Yes, for now it's the same LNAV functionality as the old one, however the LNAV update that was originally planned to release first with the 747 will very soon also be included into the 737. So we should see it actually being able to fly RF Legs very soon! Once it is you can be sure I'll do some videos involving them!

I like how u already have made 13 tutorials. On a sim plane. Love the diversity in this game. I myself set up a 5 hour flight then grab a snack at the end missing my call to decent. Ending up nose diving the plane with 11000 v/s🤣🤣🤣🤣 Landing is ok enough tho. I wont be buying stuff like this for €70 but its cool its out there for you sim people!

I am sure many are really going to enjoy the 737! It's probably not for everyone if you just want to hop in and have some fun without any studying first, but once you get to know it, it's really a nice airplane to fly!

@@A330Driver ill take ur word for it. Rn im really trying to learn the 787. Like boeing more in general, never get the autopilot to work in a airbus lmao. Only thing i dont understand yet is when to press that aproach button. I watched a video years ago for FSX that you need to hear a ILS beep or something for a specific frequenze. But when i put that in the 787 its says error. Idk ussualy just quess when to press it and it works hahaha! Thanks for your great tutorials. I've been able to follow along with them so far but need a little more explanation on your statement "Vertical speed must be proportional to current ground speed." I could not quite follow how that is determined.
@A330Driver2 жыл бұрын
The faster you fly the faster you have to go down to stay on the path. So if you're doing 150kt you will have to do maybe a hundret ft/min more than if you were doing 130kt.

Dear CPT what SPEED criteria is for gate during IMC - 1000 AGL, top of white bar, also within VREF +20kt or maybe more as we are higher and probably flying a little faster befor flap 30?
@A330Driver7 ай бұрын
Hi, it’s speed between Vref to Vref+20. Flap setting makes no difference since Vref is based on your flap setting already.

Dear When I want to land with the Pmdg738 , I tried to emulate the settings of your video approach and flaps , but on landing the aircraft accelerates , when it wants to climb back it gets off course , and on the speedometer minimum and maximum meet - and even about each other , i don't know what goes wrong , maybe you know the solution. @@A330Driver Your tutorials are outstanding!!! Could you possibly do a tutorial on flying the traffic pattern (circuit). It would really help for practicing take-offs and landings just like primary training in a small aircraft. Also consider both a circuit hand flying and another circuit using the MCP.

Great job you're doing theory and practice separated but I do have one question though isn't the vref speed that comes with 30/129 has wind correction of 5kts added into it? Do pilots need to basically calculate wind correction manually and add it into vref speed in real aircraft as well? If so what's the point of FMC showing wind correction 5kts at the bottom?
@A330Driver2 жыл бұрын
The wind correction is not added into the Vref, pilots always need to do it manually.

Thank you. I have a ? About AT auto throttle. I know on Auto land you leave it on but when would you turn it off normally for visual or other approaches?

When disconnecting the AP. We fly either with both on or both off.
@stephanweber11682 жыл бұрын
Hi, could you please explain the Vref calculation taking into account the headwind and gust on approach? For example, I don't understand exactly why you add 1/2 of the headwind component to Vref. Thanks.
@A330Driver2 жыл бұрын
Wind flows over objects, causing turbulence and disruption of the airflow. That can lead to loss of airspeed. Half the steady wind plus the full gust (up to +15 max) is used to correct for that potential momentary loss of airspeed.

My book says 1 second, Boeings 737 fleet chief pilot said 2 seconds on our latest roadshow. 5 would definitely be longer than the full flight sim took when we did this as a demo in the sim.

You should certainly invest a little bit of time trying to learn it again once you have the aircraft.
