As a pilot, i can tell that one of the best references to center the aircraft is aligning it with your right knee (if you are at main seat).

Thanks for your video, need some help. I ran into problem with the auto pilot for PMDG 737. Sometimes i could activate the auto pilot during take off, other times, it wouldn't light up at all. For auto pilot to be activated, I understand that there are two conditions: 1. Set altitude, or 2. program the route in FMC, Since I'm doing a quick flight to test VS and FLC in auto pilot mode, I set the altitude only. But during take off, the auto pilot button didn't light up when I press the button. Which step did I miss out?
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately my computer's broken so I can't try to replicate the problem. You need one of the Autopilot Command buttons and the altitude mode selected for it to work.

PLEASE ADD. What to do if atc tells us to miss some waypoint and go direct to a particular waypoint. Also how to follow atc said heading while following the altitude restriction as per route.
@casocaptain5493
@casocaptain5493 6 жыл бұрын
Hi, you have to enter that waypoint at the top on the LEGS page on the FMC and then adjust the route. If it's yet in the route just copy it by pressing the left button near that waypoint and paste it by pressing the left at the top (in the legs page). I hope this will help you, safe flight.
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
Yep, as Caso said, hit the line select button next to the waypoint you're cleared to, then hit the button at the top of the LEGS page. That will tell the CDU to "fly direct" to the waypoint you selected.

Hello, Thanks for your answer. This is my fault because I stay with one plane and that is the Boeiing 737 (PMDG and Zibo ) only. It's difficult enough ;) So I skip all other plane-types. But I look the video now for sure. In practice the techniek must be the same . Normally if I use the trim into the 737 then it go strong up a next strong down everything except what I plannend. Nevertheless Thanks.. Bye Bye.

Do you use auto throttle to keep it that smooth on the taxiway
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 4 жыл бұрын
Nope, just a very delicate touch on the throttles to get the thrust just right for taxiing, it's just something which comes with experience. I did this flight about 50 times before making a recording.
@dragoclarke9497
@dragoclarke9497 3 жыл бұрын
Auto throttle should not be used for taxi. Use just enough thrust to get the aircraft moving then on a flat taxiway idle should be enough to keep going. You may need a bit more power if very heavy. Speed on straights about 20kts, 10kts during the turn.

@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I'm afraid because I don't have a set of pedals myself. Is it just this aircraft that you have problems with or is it all aircraft?
@dragoclarke9497
@dragoclarke9497 3 жыл бұрын
Presuming the rudder pedals are correctly calibrated it's probably due to a crosswind as the large vertical fin/rudder will give a noticeable turning effect in a crosswind.

I read that on rotation, you have a pitch-up rate of 3 degrees per second to 15 degrees nose-up. How do you accurately gauge this?
@Doofer911
@Doofer911 6 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can, I think it's just something you have to get a "feel" for. As I said in the video, the best thing to do is to rotate slower than you think you need to. And definitely avoid rotating and pitching up too quickly otherwise you risk a tail strike.
