Captain Nav. A BIG Thankyou for taking the time to demonstrate the IAN approach. Currently in the middle of a computer upgrade to get more out of fsx and iron out some problems. Looking forward to completing an IAN approach.

+kc sydney No problem, you are welcome. Good luck with the computer upgrade.

Completed my first IAN approach tonight and feel quite happy about it. Always good to learn new things. Even though the program has its faults its still pretty awesome.

+kc sydney Cool.... I did not even know that IAN existed, so, as you said, always good to learn new things.... I am glad you had fun, this is what it is all about.

Interesting vid Captain nav, i think my brain went into over load, still trying to get a handle on so many other things to understand. I saw you in stream but i was using my mobile, and the signal was iffy, lucky for you, i would have rained questions at ya lol...

+Francis Paul I saw you on the stream at the beginning. I will reassure you, my computer crashed, so the stream did not last very long unfortunately :-( I think it is easier to watch a stream on a computer or a tablet.

Hi there :) in my airline we uses IAN regularly. 738s

Cool, I guess it is an option/package airlines can select individually.

I like your videos very much, thank you for making them! Your manual landings are always so perfect. After hundreds of landings with the pmdg I still find it hard to get the ideal approach. Most of the time I'm too low, just before landing. Do you have tips for better manual landings?

+Rick L. Thank you very much for the nice feedback. I guess a good thing to do is to follow the ILS all the way down to 50 feet. That way, you know you are on the correct vertical profile. I invite you to have a look at the 777 Landing Tutorial video on the channel. Enjoy!

+Captain Nav Thank you for your quick response! I overlooked that video because I do not own the 777 myself, but the tutorial was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much.

+Rick L. You are welcome. I guess the principles for landing are similar, regardless of the aircraft type. Enjoy!

Hello, very good shoot! Just what do you take like "minima" in the first part(after selecting ils approach in the FMC..)?Thanks
@CaptainNav Жыл бұрын
Thanks for popping in. What do you mean? I am not sure I understand your question.

Hello! Just wanted to know which "minima"(charts) do you consider for a IAN(22) approach because you didn't select anything on baro? Thanks
@CaptainNav Жыл бұрын
Hi... I see what you mean. I am not sure what minima you would use to be honest, there are no IAN minima...maybe RNAV or LPV..?? Probably why I did not use any minima for the video.

Really nice video! :-) subscribed! another question: what are your pc specs? seems to run nicely with ORBX england and UK2000 Stansted i assume? :-)
@CaptainNav8 жыл бұрын
+LUX Spotting Thank you very much. You are correct, it is ORBX England and UK2000 Stansted. Some of the PC specs are on my Twitch profile....It is a good PC, but not a beast, far from it.....

What mods do you have? Where can I download this plane?

+AnteVante This is the PMDG 737, it is easy to do a search on the internet. It is payware. Thanks for your comment.

Hi thanks for the video! I have a question about using LVL CH during approach phase. I always thought that VS-mode is used during approach, to prevent the aircraft go slightly up whilst slowing down. Apparently you use LVL CH and not VS. Is that company procedure or general procedure?
@CaptainNav8 жыл бұрын
+Egbert Drenth You are welcome. LVL CH is good to slow down and descend. If you use VS with a high rate of descent, you can't slow down and descend at the same time. LVL CH does raise the nose of the aircraft, but it is necessary to do so in order to slow down.
