Pipedrive's automation and emailing features have come a long way since I first started using the CRM back in 2015. Creating a simple nurture sequence is easy and is great for getting your leads to book a discovery call, following up on quotes or nurturing leads over the long run until they're ready to make a purchase decision.
In this video, I show you how to create a simple email nurture sequence using the native automation features in Pipedrive.

Thank you for a very informative video. To test my automations containing delays I normally change the delay step to 3 minutes during testing. That way testing can be conducted at a more efficient pace. Just an idea being put out there.

Hi! Thanks for video. Is it possible to have tree with multiple options? For example one sequence IF email is opened or another sequence IF not

I'm afraid Pipedrive's automations doesn't support that kind of 'if, then, else' logic at the moment. You can only add conditions to stop the automation if criteria aren't met.

Thank you. very informative video. Is there an option to add a condition not to send follow up emails if said client responds to first email?

Yes, in the conditions there is an option to check for a reply which you can use to stop any further emails being sent

Good question. I've never tried this but if you use 'Re: [subject]' the customers email client may add it to the same thread.

Thanks Paul, very useful !! quick question - I would like to create 2 automations that are : - if contact person is created AND organisation type (custom field) is Venture Capital > send email template to contact person Also if I had 100 new contacts the same day will that work ? is there a limitation to the number of emails I can send ? Then the second automation I want to make is - if contact person has opened email AND organisation type is Venture Capital > create new deal in pipeline I have looked but I can't find an action that is being triggered by an email being open - is that correct ? thanks for your help !

Hi Paul, great video as always! Is it possible to trigger these automations if someone fills out a specific form? I am thinking about a typical follow-up sequence. I have my ebook lead magnets attached to Pipedrive forms...

Yes. You would likely use a 'Lead Created' or 'Deal Created' trigger. So when your form creates the lead or deal, the automation could trigger a follow up.

Hey Paul! Love this video, sorry for being 11 months late. Just curious, how would the trigger be if there are current deals sitting on the same pipeline, however I would like to reach them out through followups instead of doing it 1 by 1 for existing deal. Would the trigger be Deals Updated then?

If I understand what you're asking, you could bulk update the deals from the list view to trigger all the deals to trigger your automation at once.

You could do this easily using the group emailing feature. Simply select the contacts from the list view and you can send a group email.

It would depend on your trigger. e.g. if you trigger from a person label being updated, then sure.

Our emails keep going to spam when sending through Pipedrive. Any thoughts?

Well the email is still going out from your Google or Microsoft account. The only thing I can think that Pipedrive is doing is adding the open/click tracking. But this is so common, I'd be surprised if this is why emails are going to spam.

Why are you always pushing Zapier when they charge per "zap" (transaction), when there are other free connection applications? Do you sell Zapier and receive a commission? Calendar and newsletter options are available without additional transaction fees. Hmmm....

Haha, no I don't sell or receive a commission on Zapier. It's just what I know and have used the most. I'm sure there are other options out there. I just stick with what I know.
