Hello Varun, One more time we enjoyed to watch your video. The example was very clear, and understandable. I finish today this process, sorry I try to study every day at least one hour. Well, I got clear this from this process. Direct and manage project work is just to execute the activities planned at the project management plan. As the work is developed, changes happen, issues arise and new constraints and opportunities happen. In order to control all this "new excitement" as PM, we need to log the issue to allow track and ensure are resolved, canalize the changes requested via the Integrated change control process to ensure the impact on the project is take care of all the processes, update the Project Management Plan, and the project documents such as activity list, assumptions (now will be different with the changes and new risks to consider as well). Changes can modify everything actually, and sometimes needs to be corrected to right direction, or preventive so not happen, this is maybe something related with the lesson learned. hello sir can you please explain why do we need CHANGE LOG as an input , although there is APPROVED CHANGE REQUESTS ? my question is at the beginning of the DIRECT AND MANAGE PROJECT WORK PROCESS, from where i would get chnage requests or the change log ? i am so confused

Thats a very good question. Approved CR is just telling you that this change team needs to implement. Change log is just telling you other information about that approved change that who asked for this change, when etc etc. Sorry for replying late. Became a new dad few months back and its been a crazy busy time for me. They are kind of same only. PMIS is more like a tool and OPA is more like a repository where this tool can function.

During the ITTO slide, you mention a myriad of project documents (change log, milestone list, project communications, etc.). My question is, how are these inputs when their planning processes have not yet even begun (see project communications)? Or how are some of these inputs when they haven't yet been listed as outputs in the previous processes (see milestone list)?

Good question Jeff. Think from this perspective that you are in the execution phase. Direct and manage project work is an execution process. Right? So if you are in execution, this means the planning processes are already done atleast once. Did you understand why approved change request is an input? because that is very important

Varun, okay this makes more sense (like you said, by the time you get to Integrated process of Direct and Manage Project Work, you have already been through the planning processes, at least once, so they can all now be inputs). As for the approve change request(s) - you are referring to the iterative process of back-and-forth between Execution and Monitoring and Controlling, right? I.e. You are apt to cycle back-and-forth between these two processes as you complete and validate project deliverables, right?

Absolutely correct. Just think from this perspective when a CR is raised, it has to go through the change request process and if it gets approved through integrated change request process then it has to be implemented. This is the process where that CR is implemented.

If you are talking about lessons learned register as an input then it could be both for current or previous projects.

hi please i don't understand PMIS can you share with us an example of it in the construction field as i work as engineer in a construction organization

PMIS is basically a term which is used in IT field and not in construction field. Think of PMIS as a repository where you are storing your important information. If I need to relate to your construction field then compare it with a warehouse where you are storing all your materials and other important stuff. But remember PMIS is more on a IT side.

The amount of ITTO's and variety is quite overwhelming. Do we need to memorize them in their entirety for the exam? I understand it is more important to *understand why*, but I'm not sure how this content will be tested on the exam and memorization may be required. Thanks in advance.

No Johnathan, you dont have to memorize this. You will get lot of practice on the EduHubSpot simulator where we will show you how a question is being asked. Nobody will ask you a direct ITTO's question. They do ask in CAPM but not in PMP. 95% of your questions will be scenario based and you will do sufficient practice on EduHubSpot simulator.
