Hello sir , i am little bit confused here about the 2 inputs here : 1.project charter 2. Business docs Why we need business documents when we already have the project charter ? Bcuz The project charter has already incorporated the appropriate information for the project

That is a very good question Rameez. Not all information from business doc will be par of project charter. Project charter only incorporates the why part of the project from business doc. But when are closing the project , you really need to cover all the aspects of business documents to make sure your project was successful or failure. Varun

Why EEFs are not included as "Inputs" in close project or phase process. Any specific reason?

Hi Vivek: I honestly feel EEF should be included as an input to this process. PMBOK should have specifically mention that but you cant debate with them as clearly PMBOK has mentioned that the list of inputs given in PMBOK are not just limited to it. So even if EEF is not mentioned, it can still be an input.

Hello Deepa, You can release resources through out your project as their requirement is finished but it is still majorly part of close project or phase process. Refer to PMBOK page 123. It says: "Reassigning personnel and reallocating resources"

formal acceptance is done in validate scope but confirming the formal acceptance is something that is done in close project or phase process.

Thats a good point Senthil. Not all information from business case and agreement become part of project charter but we need to verify that during the closing of project. That is why you need them as separate input. Varun

Sure. Think of manage project knowledge process as where you are creating the lessons learned register for the first time. Once that is done then you update the lessons learned register throughout the project and finally in closing you document the lessons learned as a closing step.

Thanks for your great videos , really I want to understand about dealing with resources according to Pmbok page 123 reassigning personnel reallocating resources done in administrative closure which it is step one in closing while you talking about releasing resources at final transition step which is the final step in closing which seems to me what you are talking about is 100% logical . can you help me understanding this point please ???

Hello Balkees, So the points which are given in PMBOK page 123 does not necessarily means that they are done in order. They are just saying that these are the points which need to be done. Consider releasing the resources as the last or second last step in your closing procedure. It depends upon type of organizational policy you follow. Most of the times, last step in your close project process is to measure the stakeholder satisfaction.
