For studying this topic on the PMP Exam, I recommend understanding the differences between each Personality Indicator (for example, ENTJ and what each symbol means), either through Wikipedia or other sources on the web. I successfully passed my PMP Certification last week : ). I found Ray's videos on the following topics to be very helpful and relevant: PMP Exam Situational Questions, Servant Leadership, and Agile & Hybrid. In my case, I had NO questions about Critical Path or calculating CPI, CV, SPI, SV, TCPI (did need to know what the values meant). Hello Ashish, thank you for your comment. During my PMP exam prep, I have provided 2-3hrs/day on weekdays and 6-7 hrs/day on weekends. It took me about 3 months to get fully prepared.

I've started with Head First PMP (4th edition) but it seems outdated :( At the same time, Rita's last book is expensive and I heard it doesn't cover the new format that much as well. Read the Agile Practice Guide (cover-to-cover) very thoroughly and make notes of the important areas. Read other literature of Agile from the internet as well. New PMP exam is going to be very Agile heavy.... 2. Read PMBOK6 + Rita Mulcahy (10th edition if you manage to get it) or PMP Study Guide (Kim Heldman) 2021 exam update 3. I am currently completing online lectures to earn 35 PDUs required to appear in exam and I plan to pass the exam this year. While going through the lectures, a lot of knowledge areas and processes are intermingled. I haven't read PMBOK uptil now. Hi, PMP exam is not a test of PMBOK. It is based on the PMI ECO (Examination Content Outline). Personality Indicators are part of syllabus (People, Task-14). Hey Ray I plan on passing my exam on January 23rd. I prepared for 4 weeks (4 to 5 hours) with the pmbok 6th edition and sts simulation mock tests and currently at 70% . I worry alot about the new format because the mock tests i did were NOT updated with the new format and content . Do you think i should postpone ? And if so to when do you think would be best? Taking the training from ATPs in not mandatory. The only thing you need ensure that from wherever you are taking the training, they are providing you a certificate that mentions the "35 contact hours of project management education". You will need it if your application is audited.

Sir, One more query about PMBOK 7th edition... When it's expected to be released by PMI and when the exam pattern will be changed as per PMBOK 7th edition. So that I'll start my preparation accordingly.

Hi Gopala, the PMBOK7 is most likely to be out by Apr'21-May'21. But, note that the PMP exam is independent of the PMBOK, so the exam pattern/syllabus may/may-not change with PMBOK7. PMP exam is based on the PMP-ECO. The PMBOK (6 or 7) is just one of the many reference books to prepare for the PMP exam.
