Interesting. Are you continuously sending target coordinates or are they programmed before the launch?

Continuous stream, sort of have to since there is no program on the missiles and they are all being controlled by the launching ship's mainframe. A performance saving measure but also allows midflight course adjustment,

They seem to keep targetting the exact center of the ship, even after the center is already destroyed. Is that intentional? Also I'm gonna need a name for that song :P

Sort off, they have a deviation based on the aproximated size of the vessel however i keep it relatively small in order to limit the chances of missiles going right through the hole they made. However estimating the bounding box without lagging everything with LIDAR is... well its not possible. As a result the missiles will just pick and offset and try to impact there, ususaly that offset is enough to cut a ship it half which is what i want, and if the target moves, they are going to hit all over the place anyways

Anti orbital missiles....so...these missiles destroy the orbits!?!.!

Not quite, but they do target vehicles situated in orbit for the express purpose of un-existing them. Though to be honest, they are more akin to anti-everything missiles as they are apt to engage fighters, cruisers, bases, other missiles, my sanity and a ton of other stuff.

Its well know that having a big hole in the center of your ship is a common way to beat PMW. However that really only works in one axis of fire (here it would not since the designator ship was off-axis to the vector of fire). Moreover if the missiles are running encirclement mode, or if the ship is evading, the missiles are going to stray and hit all over the place on all vectors of approach. Since they are proximity fuzed, its hard to prevent them hitting the frame of the "donut" which is always bad news, but more importantly is likely to cut the ship in half, after which the center of grid will re-ajust to be inside on of the arms which means the trick won't work anymore. Also, if the ship is mostly spherical, all you have to do is modify the offset percentage (right now at 30%) so the missiles spread out more and end up hitting the frame

Depends which one, the target ship is on the workshop (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2025612585) But the two other missile ships (Draconis corvette, used here for remote targetting) and Oryx skimmer (that does the shooting on the ground) are using the guidance script, which is in development and for private use only for now. Can't publish any of these ships until the script is ready to hit the workshop

Fast missiles against regular gattling guns, they aren't exactly meant for that
