The only thing I dislike about Rain's b + 3,4 string is that he CLEARLY kicks the opponent in their foot, but it's labeled a "Mid" attack. I've always disliked it when moves are labeled one hit property when it clearly looks like another one 😂.

I feel like they are slowly completing characters out of what feels like them in an early access state. Rain and reptile look so fun now. Ermac is proof what they can do with time. He is the most freestyle character by far and we need that for others bigtime. Kameos should complement not be required for the base roster.

Rain got new moves and might be top 10. Quan Chi got new moves and moved up the tierlist, and Liu Kang has stayed consistently good throughout. All three of my mains in this game are really good… this might be the first time I’ve had this happen. In MK11, I loved so many characters but they were all low-tier, I had struggles with so many match ups but I was trying to have fun in a game that *wasnt* fun.

Honestly, the low tiers in this game (besides havik) are all still very good. I basically only play mid-low tiers and still do pretty well. I don’t reslly feel the high tier difference unless i’m fighting kenshi or johnny cage.

@@sondertales6762I’m glad that I don’t have to feel weird about being a Raiden main anymore. I’ve been Raiden/Jax since day 1 so I never abused storm cell. The only thing that really changed for me is that they buffed the DB2 special. Can’t wait to play around with it and see I can implement it.

I like the way they allow Geyser + Up to also do the far geyser, makes it much more intuitive to use kameos that require a held up, like scorpion. Nice touch, might have always been the case but I never consciously recognised it. Edit: You can also combo B3 into Rain God to get some swaggy stuff midscreen. What I would give for a different input for that though.

8:00 You can do 1,1 after the cancel, but you have to wait a bit more before pressing so you don’t cancel the dash. It has pretty wacky timing

It was always awkward for me to only get Geyser as a ranged punish, especially if I needed to do a micro-dash into Far Geyser to even trade for chip damage! The new low string helps so much with that!. The bug fix to the dash cancel's inability to block is also VERY impactful. I'd always be miffed that I reacted to Reiko's EX Stars, but couldn't block it.

I'm more happy Reptile got some small yet giant buffs, that skydrop cancel is nuts for making everything he does safe now and with a proper and crazy fast full screen projectile to boot makes him feel so fresh. Plus his standing 3 got a sneaky buff where you can actually cancel it mid way and it has enough hitstun to start combos with now (with it's extended range it's almost a start of round hit now)

For my fellow Rain mains, b3 can be special canceled into ddu (rain god) and if you're close enough, you can get a jump combo for more meterless damage. Also 211 can be dash canceled into 211 again.

yeah besides the new strings, the cancel buffs don't benefit the casual player at all really... I've got a so-so foundation of FG experience and I still can't hit the cancel combos consistently after a couple hours of practice

F21 into B3 though is very doable and gives almost all of the same benefits I think Rain needs to be paired up with a Pressure Kameo like Motaro or Stryker to keep opponents from just mashing after every cancel
