I've been looking for this exact thing for months, thank you.

The Yamaha has it. Roland is next and the Akai brings up the rear. The SU10 had a fuller sound especially on the breaks. Great video

That's not actually an Akai sampler, just a skin for the po33 from teenage engineering
@johnrobinson5672 Жыл бұрын
I use the po33 alongside the su10 and between them you get that authentic lofi grit with a little extra convenience. Great review.

The Holly lofi 2020s not yet over inflated in price trinity.

Right? I checked the prices of the MS-1 recently and they’re going for $150. Ouch!

Sincerely I prefer the SU10, and I'm quite glad! Great video!

The SU10 sounds great! Punchy high-mids and clarity with fast transients.

I got one very recently, it's really badass. and it is around $300 not 100 I believe, that's what I paid on reverb anyway.

Just grabbed an MS-1 (for more than what’s mentioned here for sure lol) and excited to play around with the fact it’s pass thru? Should be fun getting something going on my sequencer+synth > MS-1 > running it to my mixer

The MS-1 is the most underrated.
@user-hl5xj2qh8q3 жыл бұрын
The SU-10 sounded "fuller" somehow, it was like more thick, it has sass and it doesn't sound overwhelming like the other ones. Could it be the filter used, maybe it's giving better "coloration" and the other digital devices simply lacked a filter? Maybe the filter was analog?
@lugo49053 жыл бұрын
There was no filter engaged. Plus, the filter on the SU10 is Very digital - and very useful.

Both the MS-1 and the SU10 are great - 16bit lofi is the best.

I definitely like the SU-10.

@3:29 I'm not going to point out my favourite 😜 the MS-1 mine too. But yeah all have their own flavour for sure. Thanks for taking the time I'm sure many more people have found it useful than have commented here ❤️🤘🕺🪩✌️

MS-1 hands down. It makes drum kits hit more rugged at Standard, Long 1 and Long 2 bit rates. Roland (if they had any brains) should have re-released it in a modern form factor format instead of make crappy Dr. Sampler toys.

I'm looking for a nice MS-1 (again!). Just bought an SU10. However, the screen is almost invisible if you look straight on, has to be tipped at an angle to read anything. Is yours the same? Are all the LCs just fading off?

@@MicrophonesInTheTrees on the MS1? I have an MS1 with a bad screen too. I keep it as a parts backup. Could never locate a replacement screen for it

@lugo4905 Жыл бұрын
@@legendsflashback if you’re looking for an affordable 12bit sampler - under $400 then look at the Ensoniq EPS Classic. Another option is the Roland S330, S10, S220, or the MKS100 - the RolandS are a little hard to use.

@@lugo4905 yeah I have the ensoniq eps 🎹 keyboard with 2x expander I think havoc used it. Just wish there was a portable battery operated 12bit sampler
