Big Bear Overnight Camp Getaway

In this video Goose & I head up to Big Bear in the San Bernardino Mountains for a quick overnight camping excursion with all three of our daughters. This was a great opportunity for my oldest daughter to take her new Jeep off-roading for the first time.
We explored a bunch of trails we had never been on before & ended up at a great location to set up camp for a quick overnight. It was the first time in quite a while all three of my girls went camping with me at the same time. What a great way to celebrate Father's Day weekend.

What a fun Father's day! I agree it doesn't get any better having the whole family together doing what you love to do! I went to Big Bear on Father's Day for the day with my family. Hey man, I've been watching your vids like crazy lately, honestly at 1st just to watch vids of your wife's rubicon as I have ordered the same lift for my 2 door willys but really ended up enjoying the whole vid, with your cooking , camping set ups and even hiking the trails! Anyway, quick question any issues with the icon lift? Have you had to add an aftermarket driveshaft as that lift seems to sit so tall compared to most 2.5in lifts, it seems to handle the trails fairly well in your vids but any info you might have positive or negative I would certainly appreciate it! Thanks!

Hi Nate. I have considered it, but I really don't need any more encouragement to bring more stuff with me. LOL. Honestly, the Coleman single burner boils the water pretty quick, but I'm sure not as fast as the Jetboil. Plus, having to bring another form of fuel is just another thing for me to pack, or more than likely forget to replenish. Thanks watching and leaving a comment. Take care.

Love your adventure videos. Any tips on packing when you're out with the family? I have 3 Kids (2 girls that are 11, 1 boy that's 4) I feel like we over pack when we go out. My biggest concern is usually water and food. I see in this video you use a lot of water bottles. Do you have any water storage on the jeep? Thanks!

Hi Robert - Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment. As far as tips go, try to pack everything is square of rectangle packs. This way you can try to play a game of Tetrus and move things around so everything is real efficient. Thats why I love my Rigid cases. The are nice and square, & water and dust proof for all our food and camping gear. I usually have 2 rotopax of waters mounted on my spare tire, but since this trip was so short I just had my Nemo topped off. Happy Trails
